Delusions, Desperation and Democrats-Part II
March 07, 2006 02:00 PM EST

Author’s Note: I hadn’t planned to write a “sequel” to my piece from a few days ago. However, the utterly poisonous responses from liberals all over the country make me think that another one might be appropriate.

There are two main reasons why liberal Democrats have lost so many elections in recent years. One has been around a long time, and the other is comparatively new.

The Old Reason…

In “Delusions, Desperation and Democrats” (Part I) I mentioned that the Democrat Party hasn’t had a fresh idea in 40 years. One needs only to examine the agenda of the party to understand that my statement was correct. They’re pushing the same failed tax and spend agenda today that they pushed back in the Sixties.

It isn’t that they lack the ability to come up with something new. Their agenda is based upon their beliefs and their vision for America. Think about it… has the conservative agenda changed all that much over the years? The major difference here is that the conservative agenda, properly implemented, works. The liberal agenda had its chance and failed dramatically.

The root of this problem lies in a central tenet of liberal philosophy: A belief that someone else will always be around to pay the bills.

It’s a known fact that none of the money you pay into Social Security will come back to you when you hit retirement age. The money you pay in supports those who retired before you. The money you receive when you retire is paid by those who come after. In other words, your retirement isn’t self-sufficient. This notion that “everyone else should pay for everyone else” has no basis in common sense. Imagine you and a neighbor deciding that if you pay for each other’s retirement, each of you will have a “free” retirement. This is in essence how liberal social programs work.

I firmly believe that any society should have a safety net. America provides these services through Medicare, Medicaid, and various state programs. The problem here is that nowadays just about everyone can qualify for all or some of them, and that fact turns viable assistance programs into financial black holes.

The idea that health care should be free is equally nonsensical. Liberals here in the States often claim that Americans “deserve” a Canadian-style health care plan. Well golly… what did we do to deserve that?

Canadians die while on waiting lists for government-funded treatment. It isn’t unusual to see Canadians crossing our northern border to get treatment for various ailments before they become life-threatening. Waiting lines for needed services like MRI’s and non-elective surgeries are growing in Canada. If you were faced with a choice between risking your life by waiting for so-called “free” health care, or visiting a private practice and paying your own way, what would you do? A “long wait” at an American clinic generally means a couple of hours. In Canada, it can stretch into weeks.

Private clinics (technically illegal) are popping up all over Canada, and in 2005 the Canadian Supreme Court struck down a ban on private clinics in Quebec. It would seem that Canada is slowly moving toward an American-style health care system. Good for them.

Liberals have an unhealthy tendency to believe government should be paying for your health care, your retirement and your housing. Unfortunately, the government’s primary source of revenue is the very people who would receive all these nifty benefits. That fact in and of itself blows liberalism out of the water. We do not have a self-sustaining government. It exists solely because We The People support it with our tax dollars. If you want an example of a government that supports itself, take a look at Communist China.

The New Reason…

Liberalism has always had a militant streak within it. Getting out in the streets and speaking your mind is as American as apple pie. But when people begin to file lawsuits and march in protests for the right to defile humanity through various acts of perversion and murder you’re bound to lose credibility with mainstream Americans. And yet this is exactly what liberals have done in recent years.

Throughout history, just about every major government and all major religions have refused to legitimize homosexuality. Thanks to an endless stream of lawsuits, protests (some violent), and a continual barrage of biased reporting in the media, homosexual behavior is edging its way into “normalcy” in America. Unfortunately, any society that accepts perversion and deviancy shall itself become equally perverse. Proof? There is a link below to an MSNBC story about a lesbian being elected “Homecoming King” at a college in Maryland.

Do ya suppose that the “Queen” will be expected to dance with her? I guess if the “Queen” is a gay fellow it’ll be okay. No, wait… if the Queen is a gay guy he might not want to dance with a girl. Okay, so just elect another lesbian as Queen and they can dance. No, wait… what if the girl is a butch and doesn’t want to be a Queen? Hm… Okay, I got it! Just make sure that the Queen is a “femmie” and she’ll be happy to dance with the King, right? God, but I miss gender stereotypes.

Conservatism is the natural enemy of the lunacy described above. The Christian Right has fought long and hard against the wave of degradation that liberalism has sent crashing across our culture. We lost many battles in the beginning, but thankfully we’re starting to strike back. Recent legislation in South Dakota may well signal an end for legalized abortion on demand. Many states have taken a stand against gay marriage as well. And, a grassroots movement against gay adoption is gaining momentum.

It all boils down to the fact that the Liberal Left seeks to remake America in its own grotesque image. Do you wish America to be a nation in which our children are encouraged to consider homosexuality, bisexuality, bestiality, abortion and other gross acts against nature as being normal and healthy? Do you want to live in an America in which government exercises complete control? The Left seeks to create a godless society controlled by an all-powerful government that would ultimately take the place of God. This new god would of course answer our every need - until the money runs out.

From “Voyage of the Fox Rider” By Dennis L. McKiernan…

“…Alamar, it seems to me that if a god never answers, then He just doesn’t care.”
“Think child,” responded Alamar. “Perhaps a god who doesn’t answer is a god who cares the most. Heed me, if in every instance you were in distress or doubt you called upon your god to aid you, and if that god answered and resolved your woe, then I ask you, what would happen to your initiative? Why struggle when there is no need? Your god will see to all. Yet, would that not lead to your god controlling every aspect of your life? And if that happened, then what would be the challenge of living?”
