Divided We Stand? United We’ll Fall!
April 17, 2006 09:27 PM EST

The big ship called the US of A is filling up fast, and if we’re not careful, we’re going to all go down with this giant. It’s easy to point a finger at George Bush, he’s the guy we keep whipping, and we seem to enjoy it.

We keep screaming, “Protect our borders.” We’re furious at any kind of amnesty program – “how dare George Bush give a pseudo-amnesty status with his guest worker proposal? He’s had 5 ½ years to fix this problem and by golly, he should have done it by now.” That’s been the outcry.

My friends, George Bush has not done one thing - but try to offer solutions - and we keep beating him up over his silly ideas. What solutions do you have?

George Bush campaigned on this issue when he ran for President in 2000. He had been talking with Vicente Fox when he was Governor of Texas. So, at least he’s tried. What have you done for your country lately, but yell at George Bush. That won’t solve the problem.

We, the American people, are the ones that gave these illegal immigrants AMNESTY many years ago. Why do we expect George Bush to take care of the problem now? We’ve been turning our backs for years – you didn’t do anything then, why scream and holler now?

If we weren’t willing to stand strong against the things we didn’t like, then we’re going to have to accept the consequences of what we, the American people, have allowed to happen.

George Bush did not stand at that border and say, “Ya’ll come.” He saw a growing problem and has tried to offer a solution without Americans breaking out in a civil war over an issue that has us all in an uproar.

Nearly 12 million illegal aliens are in our country because AMERICANS opened up the “candy store” and gave them opportunity.

It was never too many illegals when we needed them for our own individual jobs to be done, but when the numbers grew – it’s George Bush’s fault.

Now it’s time to send them back? Where have you been Mr. or Mrs. American – you’ve had ample time to let your voice be heard? But many of you needed your lawns mowed, your houses cleaned, and as long as you could get what YOU wanted at a cheap price, it was okay.

But guess what, many of these illegals offering services to you, got sick and needed medical attention and you turned your back and said, “Not my problem.”

Prostituting these people for our own selfish desires has actually cheapened us. We are going to have to pay the consequences of what WE allowed to happen. Not George Bush.

You may hate George Bush for a lot of reasons, but for him to offer a plan and you act like he’s the “quackiest duck” in the pond, is beyond me.

It is YOU who looked the other way; it is YOU who turned a deaf ear. When George Bush steps up to the plate to do SOMETHING, it makes you furious, because he’s not doing something fast enough or it’s not the answer you want.

Presidents come and go, you and I have been in our positions a long time. Look at our Congress – some of those folks have been there 40 years.

What exactly is it that you want? If you don’t want undocumented illegals in this country – STOP HIRING THEM. It’s as easy as that.

There is always a consequence to bad behavior – though we may accuse the illegals of breaking the law, so have we. How many illegals have YOU supported? You are the ones who held out the carrot stick by offering jobs, and yet now you say, “Get rid of them.”

Well, let me tell you something, there’s lots of illegal immigrants, 12 million and counting to be exact, and you don’t have much of a leg to stand on if you think they’re going to turn around and go home.

And if you don’t think a civil war is out of the question right here in our own lovely United States, just watch one more American flag run up the flag pole upside down under the Mexican flag, and we’re all going to watch “you know what” break loose.

It’s not out of the question. We’re all a little testy these days; there’s an edge on everything we do that causes just enough stress to make us all combustible. It won’t take much more.

It’s like the philanderer who wants to have fun, but after a long illicit affair, the victim of his attentions decides she likes the situation and wants more. When the perpetrator decides it’s time to cut the victim loose, she’s not going anywhere. She’s demanding a commitment, and there you are – exactly what these illegals want – a commitment from the U.S.

We are all guilty of acting like the philanderer, but if can put it off on “George,” it makes us not feel so guilty. Let George Bush be the heavy and we can get out of this scot-free. Who do we think we’re kidding? There’s a price to pay, so you might as well put your money on the table.

For any whom think George Bush has had plenty of time to handle this situation, I say to the American people, “We made this bed- now we’re going to have to lie in it.”

Just remember this: It’s WE THE PEOPLE!!

Blame, blame, blame – that’s all we’re really good at. What’s it going to take to see the error of OUR ways?

If DIVIDED WE CONTINUE TO STAND – THEN UNITED WE WILL FALL.
