Mexican President Warns US Lawmakers
May 25, 2006 08:54 AM EST

By Sher Zieve – During this week’s visit to Utah and other US states, Mexican President Vicente Fox continued to warn the US Congress and the American people against building a wall or fence at the US Border. Urging the Senate to accept Mexico’s plan of continuing to allow illegals to cross the US Southern border, Fox stated before the Utah legislature: "Since the beginning of my administration, the government of Mexico has promoted the establishment of a new system that regulates the movement of people across our border in a manner which is legal, safe and orderly."

From his statement, Fox appears to view illegal immigrants crossing the border as ‘legal immigration’.

Fox continued with: "We must continue to expand economic and social opportunities, jobs and income to people so migration becomes a decision and not a necessity.” Mexico currently receives approximately $200 billions/year from illegal Mexican aliens sending money back to their home country, which makes illegals in the US the second largest contributor to the Mexican economy.
