If you have not read Juan William's op-ed piece, "" in the Washington Post please do so. Then read this:
I am astounded that he used the term 'nihilism' in this quote: "a culture steeped in bitterness and nihilism, a culture that is a virtual blueprint for failure"
What in the world does he think liberalism is?
A nihilist is a person who according to Webster subscribes to the following definition:
1 a : a viewpoint that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is senseless and useless
b : a doctrine that denies any objective ground of truth and esp. of moral truths
2 a (1) : a doctrine or belief that conditions in the social organization are so bad as to make destruction desirable for its own sake independent of any constructive program or possibility
(2) cap : the program of a 19th century Russian party advocating revolutionary reform and using terrorism and assassination
b : terrorism

There is not one liberal cause celeb that does not have as its core;
- The disdain for traditional values and beliefs.
- The assumption that traditional values and beliefs are senseless and useless.
- The denial of absolute reality, teetering to the reality of perception, determined by those who provide what is perceived. (Ala, why they love polls so much.)
- The advocacy of revolutionary reform to traditional values and beliefs, with the more left the person is the more willing they are to terrorize their opponents whether it be loud voices, picketing, harassing or criminal destruction of property or character assassination.
So where I find Juan Williams' op-ed piece to be stimulating and a bright light for the future of civil rights to us all, I find his cloaked admission to being conservative more than his Fox News antics would attest; to be hypocritical at the least and in the closet most likely.
His party is bitter and it is being run by and has people running for office that are hell bent on destroying the traditional values and beliefs of the one of the nations in the world ( and the list is one hand long) they can do so without being rounded up and placed in prison for sedition and insurrection.
I find Williams to be going through an identity crisis.
Does he really know that the heroes he mentioned were mostly Republicans? Read "Dr. King Was A Republican By Frances Rice of the NBRA at this link.
Does he really know that such a belief in civil rights and the individuals ability to take advantage of opportunity is what Republicans have always stood for and still stand for?
Does he really know that Republicans differ from Democrats in the area of civil rights by the simple definition of the word 'opportunity'?
Democrats read 'opportunity' to mean 'entitlement' while Republicans read 'opportunity' to mean the chance for progress and advancement.
Democrats play the race card in the game of civil rights while Republicans stand up for it and are condemned for the position that the word 'opportunity' has meaning that is rooted in reality and the liberal perception of reality does not match the meaning of the word.
I don't know if Williams has it in him, but to save his soul he should grasp reality long enough, as he has with his op-ed piece, to realize he does not fit in the liberal celebration. His own piece condemns liberalism for the root cause of black people's current condition.
Because liberalism is indeed: "a virtual blueprint for failure".
And Williams admits it.
