By Sher Zieve – Commenting on his and his colleague’s Sunday release from Islamic terrorists, Fox News’ Steve Centanni said that, although he respects the religion: "We were forced to convert to Islam at gunpoint.” Both he and New Zealand cameraman Olaf Wiig were forced to don Islamic robes and read a prepared on-camera statement claiming their conversions to Islam before their captors would release them.

The NY Sun reports that the Palestinian terrorist group, Holy Jihad Brigades, offered the kidnapped journalist three choices: conversion to Islam, paying the jizya (non-Muslim tax paid to their Muslim masters) or war [death]. The journalists chose the “conversion” option. This is said to be another example of the Islamic war against Western nations being religious in nature rather than political.

In regards to Palestinian leadership having foreknowledge of the terrorist group holding the journalists, Haaretz reported: “senior Palestinian security officials said Sunday the name [Holy Jihad Brigades] was a front for local militants, and that Palestinian authorities had known the identity of the kidnappers from the start.”
