By Sher Zieve – Appearing on Friday’s Sean Hannity show the writer and one of the producers of The Path to 9/11, Cyrus Nowrasteh, spoke out on the controversy surrounding the docudrama. On Thursday, Democrat Senators threatened to yank the ABC network’s broadcast license if it aired the miniseries said not to be completely favorable toward former President Clinton.
With the fear of losing its license, due to the Democrats’ attempt to remove the network’s free speech, ABC is said to now be seriously considering canceling the show. Many Democrat Senators are on committees that approve, disapprove and regulate network licensing.
When asked if the rumors of ABC pulling the show due to pressure from former President Clinton and the Democrat leadership are true, Nowrasteh said: “As I understand it, we’re airing Sunday and Monday night.” When Hannity asked him whether or not Clinton and the Democrats had influenced ABC to heavily edit the docudrama, Nowrasteh responded: “I can’t deny those reports.”
Nowrasteh also said: "I think it’s unfortunate that this has happened. I’d like the people to see it uncut. This is not great for the creative process.” He added: “The heartbeat of the film is still there. They can’t gut it. The villains in this movie are the terrorists.”
