The Standoff Between Two Worldviews
September 18, 2006 10:00 AM EST

Anyone who says that there is no war on Christianity or war on Christmas need to wake up and face reality. Just this past week I witnessed a barrage of unnecessary attacks. These attacks would never happen to any other religion other than Christianity. Let's look at some of the thing I speak of:

1) Five years after September 11, the ACLU in all their splendor consider Christians to be the terrorists rather than the Islamic extremists that have been attacking us for several years now. We were being attacking by these people in the 1990s and yet did nothing about it. If groups like the ACLU want to call Christians terrorists, I suppose they have the right to free speech just as anyone else, but they should at least provide some evidence for that most ignorant theory. Sure there have been less than a handful of radicals who have blown up abortion clinics here or there on occasion. These people are criminals just the same, but just how many Christians have you see lined up in the streets with AK-47s and RPGs burning flags of another country and shouting death chants to another religion or country? The ACLU is crazy. They have lost their minds comparing Christian pastors to Islamic extremists. Almost every attack on this nation in the last few years have been by Muslim terrorists. These attacks include:

The Islamic bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beruit in 1983 that killed 243 marines

The Islamic hijacking of the Achille Lauro cruise ship and murder of an elderly wheelchair bound American

The Islamic bombing of Pan Am flight 103 in 1988 that killed 270 people

The Islamic bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 with the attempt to topple one building on top of the other.

The Islamic bombing of U.S. military barracks in Saudia Arabia in 1995 that killed 292 people

The Islamic bombing of the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1997 that killed 243 and injured more than 5000

The Islamic bombing of the USS Cole in 2000 that killed 17 sailors

The Islamic hijacking and destruction of the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001 that killed more than 3000.

The Islamic train bombings of Madrid (Spain), London, Bali, and the daily bombings in Iraq, Israel, and around the world.

Now, out of all of those attacks, how many of these attackers were Christian? How many were Hindu? How many were Buddhist? How many were Pagan? NONE! ALL OF THEM WERE ISLAM! Now how can anyone who is America claim that Christianity and radical Islam is not different?

2) Once again Christianity is "debunked" and compared with terrorists organizations. Recently Rosie O'Donnell made an arrogant and totally off the wall statement in comparing Islamic extremists to conservative Christianity. Perhaps the mode of ACLU thinking is beginning to rub off on some people. I never thought she would be bold enough to make a claim that is so false, bigoted, and irresponsible. All the time I hear that Christians are bigoted because we hold traditional Biblical values set forth by God Himself. Now who's the bigot? It seems to me that the world of left wing talk shows and ACLU leaders are pretty bigoted themselves.

3)Many in the secular world feel that Christianity is a threat to their selfish and self-righteous way of life. They feel threatened because they do not want to face personal responsibility to a higher authority than themselves. The war on Christianity is not limited to the United States. It is a world wide effort to silence Christianity. Recently in Britain Stephen Green, of The Christian Voice, was arrested for handing out leaflets with scripture on them about the Biblical view of homosexuality during a rally for homosexuals. Many of you wonder how long it will be before this type of persecution hits the United States. Well, you are late in your thinking because it happened in 2004 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A similar case with a similar outcome. A group of four Christians from Repent America were protesting a homosexual rally and were arrested for nothing more than quoting Bible verses and using freedom of speech.

4) Biblical Creation has been under constant attack for numerous years. While I am a firm believer in the creation, some are not. What's really bad is that the so called scientific community has literally brainwashed Americans into believing some hogwash about how everything is here by accident and how everything evolved over millions of years. There has never been any evidence whatsoever to say that any of this ever took place. The Darwinists seem to be forgetting that Darwin himself had doubts about his own theory of evolution at times. Anyone who does not believe in creation should go ahead and throw away their Bibles because they probably won't believe the rest of it either. The whole point in Jesus coming to this world and dying on that cross started when sin entered the world after creation in the Book of Genesis. Jesus and Creation are connected. Many parents now choose to homeschool their children because of the teaching of this silly nonsense that has never been proven. As a matter of fact some creation scientists actually believe that the earth is less than 6000 years old given the genealogy of the Bible and taking into account a literal six day creation time period. One of the Ten Commandments involves the Sabbath which is the day of rest. Now, if you don't believe in creation, then why follow this commandment? This commandment represents the seventh day. The day after creation, God rested, not because he was tired, but because he chose to do so. If creation was not literally six days long, then why would he give us a commandment that represents the seventh day if it did not happen?

5) Again we see the ACLU attacking Christianity. At New Mexico State University the ACLU is crying about religious discrimination because at a football game there was open Christian prayer. So what is so awful about this? This has been going on for decades and they now want to challenge it? In another event the ACLU challenged a New Orleans school board meeting because they opened with an invocation. When does it end? I happen to be a member of a local Republican club and was asked to say the prayer as we always do before we started the meeting. First we said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and did include the words "UNDER GOD" and will continue to do so regardless of whether someone takes it out or not. Next it was my turn. So I led the party members in prayer as I have before and yes I did pray for our troops and our country's leadership, the president, and I prayed in the name of Jesus just as I would if I had been at church. Now, let me let you in on a little secret. This is the difference in Republicans and Democrats. We Republicans can still pray in the name of Jesus at an open public meeting in a courthouse without a word being said. Try doing that in a Democrat meeting and you'll get thrown out of the club. I hope you see the difference now! It's a simple explanation as to how this was done. You see I am a Christian. They asked me to say the prayer and I did so as I believe. The simple truth is that if you want me to pray, don't be surprised when I pray what I believe. If you disagree with it, then get someone else to pray, because I bow only to God, not left wing separatists and neither should you.

6)Christianity in itself is slowly being criminalized overseas and may soon be that way here in the good ole U.S. of A. In some ways I think it is illegal here. Recently a Navy Chaplain was court-marshaled for praying in the name of Jesus. Well you know it's getting bad when a preacher can't even pray without getting into trouble. Now keep in mind that this happened to a Navy Chaplain named Lt. Gordon James Klingenschmitt. Now it seems to me that the U.S Military is the very people who are to protect our freedom of speech and such. Here they are joining the enemy. They had might as well join Bin Laden if they are going to continue down this rugged path. Anyone who has not been keeping up with these battles should read The Criminalization of Christianity by Janet Folger.

I have given you a few vague examples of Christianity under attack in this country and abroad and have provided references below for those who want to read the whole story for themselves. However, have you ever wondered just where these people get their funding for such vile acts of persecution? It seems to me that you and I provide the funds for others to slam us. That's right. You and I are paying for our own persecution but it don't have to be that way at all. Right now as we speak there is a bill floating around in House of Representatives that could grant the wishes and dreams of millions. This bill is capable of defunding groups like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, etc. These groups would still exist, but would no longer be able to get funds from the U.S. tax payer. The bill is called the Public Expression of Religion Act or simply PERA. Matt Staver of Liberty Counsel (www.lc.org) has already testified before congress on this matter. Some are saying the bill is long overdue and I myself have signed petitions for the bill to be voted on in the House soon. If you would like to ask your Representative and Senator to support this act please call (202) 225-3121 for the House of Representatives switchboard and (202) 224-3121 for the Senate switchboard or drop your senator and congressman an email about this act. More info on this act can be found here:

While conservative thinkers have been under attack it's good to see those who are willing to stand up and say NO to those who wish to turn our country into a secularized nation without responsibility or dignity. It is imperative that we continue to elect good-hearted conservatives to public office to insure that groups like the ACLU don't communize America. After all the ACLU's original founder was openly communist and if you look at the 1963 communist goals and look at today's ACLU and left wing goals of other groups and members of the Democratic party, there is not much difference and some of theses goals are being fought for right now as we speak. take a look for yourself here. Then make your decision as to who you are going to follow. I know whose side I'm on. What about you? THis November when you vote, remember whose side you are on and most importantly, remember what the ACLU stands for and who stands behind them.
