Our Science Teachers Need More Training!
September 29, 2006 09:00 AM EST

Dear Secretary Spellings:

Hello. This is the about the tenth time that I have written you and/or the US Department of Education. I’ve been writing you since last October in 2005, and you have not responded. Please do not “delegate” my correspondence to anyone else.

I have been asking the US Dept of Education to send a “Certificate of Completion” to each public school science teacher that successfully completes a 12-hour course called “Moses & Creation: Biblical Reality”. The persons at the Education Dept that responded have only given weak excuses, in an attempt to discourage this effort, and keep the “status quo”.

This course trains science teachers about the true scientific information found in the biblical book of Genesis concerning the history of life on Earth, and does not teach them about “Biblical Creation”. The first two chapters of Genesis are telling mankind about the rise and demise of various life forms on Earth since Creation Week, which was 4.6 billion years ago according to the geologist. It’s their call to make.

The teachers are taught how to convey to the students what is truthfully being said in Genesis, and how it explains the 600+ million year fossil record. Do not confuse this with the foolishness of Creation Science, which denies the existence of the 600+ million year fossil record, saying that it was created by “the flood of Noah”, and that the Earth is less than 10,000 years old.

The exclusive teaching of evolution indoctrinates students into the belief system of Atheism, which denies the existence of a Supreme Being. By only teaching evolution, science teachers are actually

teaching the tenets of Atheism, which is what the atheists want. The only way to balance that is to have the same person also teach the correct synopsis of early Genesis.

The issuance of the certificate is to encourage school boards and teachers to learn the truth about what Moses observed, and to allow our students to immerge from the “dark ages’ of scientific understanding, giving them closure concerning our prehistoric past. It is to the student’s advantage to know how the writings in Genesis compare to the conclusions of secular science, and how both compare to what the geologic record conveys to us.

If the President is true to his words, this falls in line with his wishes. I request that you confer with him, and that a directive from him be obtained in order for the US Dept of Education to award each teacher that “goes the extra mile” for their students, so that they will not continue to be in ignorance concerning what was written by Moses.

Just telling their students to “ask their parents” is evasive, and the students presently don’t have anyone to turn to for correct answers. Since science teachers convey the conclusions of secular science, they should also convey the “Observations of Moses”.

Be advised, that there is presently only one known person available that understands the book of Genesis enough to teach this class. No other theologian, creationist, bible scholar, or what have you, can teach them the facts, without resorting to “religious faith”.

Science teachers, such as biology and geology, would be the best ones to take the course because with their training, they would more quickly associate scientific reality with what is revealed by the correct

interpretation of the Genesis text.

Too much time has been wasted already. I firmly request that you immediately confer with President Bush on this matter, and obtain the needed directive to accomplish this task. This is not something to be issued by any of the individual states. Get the teachers something they can cherish.

Sincerely,

Herman Cummings
