Christian Voter Guide For San Diego, CA.
October 31, 2006 11:29 AM EST

(JHReport) We at the James Hartline Report believe that elected officials have the same kind of responsibility that pastors have over their congregations. In reality, both elected officials and pastors are shepherds of God's flock, and as such, we must use the same Biblical criteria for choosing those candidates in the political arena as we would the pastors of our churches. To choose a good Christian to oversee a church while electing an untrustworthy, immoral person to oversee a community's children, laws and finances just does not make any sense. Thus, we at JHReport are utilizing the basics as outlined in the first book of Timothy as a basis for presenting our recommendations for the upcoming November 7, 2006 election.

1st Timothy reads: "Here is a trustworthy statement: If someone sets his heart to be an overseer,

he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkeness, not violent but gentle,

not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's people."

Our 2006 Christian Voter Guide will be presented in four parts: (A) Part 1 - Our "A-List" of highly recommended candidates are those individuals that we feel come as close as possible to meeting Biblical expectations for being sound, moral and trustworthy leaders. We feel that these leaders have a proven history of demonstrating an allegiance of looking out for the best interest of our communities, families, children, and are people of integrity, sound judgment and courage. We are confident that these individuals will not crossover into the morally repugnant arenas of supporting abortion or homosexual lifestyles. (B) Part 2 will be composed of those candidates that we are neutral about. They are fair individuals, but we see some problems, either in their previous actions, beliefs or finances that run counter to the teachings of Christianity. (C) Part 3 - The Prodigal Party List - This is our list of people we are highly opposed to. These are individuals who have a history of dishonesty, betrayal to the cause of the Christ, or we believe that they are simply interested in promoting their own personal interests or their political party without respect to the negative consequences to our society. (D) Part 4 - Our recommendations for the ballot propositions.

The "A - List": These are the candidates that have been reviewed by the tough standards of the James Hartline Report. We have confidence that these are the best individuals in a crowded election field that we can trust to maintain Biblical integrity and sound judgment once elected.
