Just a Quick Thought
November 10, 2006 01:02 PM EST

I read an article earlier today that I thought readers might want to know about. So far we have Islamic terrorists who blow things for "Allah", and we have the fundamentalists who here in America who blow up abortion clinics and such. For a long time Christians have been known as relatively peacful as our religion teaches love and peace, but some UK Evagelicals I have learned are contemplating "violent revolution" as a result of numerous attacks on Christianity by UK lawmakers and the secualr world in general.

Now I know that the Bible teaches peace is the answer while it is filled with numerous wars in the Old Testament, but I am not s sure about a "violent revolution" Of course one day it may just very well be that we might have to take up arms to defend our faith if the secualr world keeps pushing in the hostile direction it is going in now.

I am not referring to killing innocents like our Islamic counterparts, but merely self-defense against those who might try invading our homes, change Biblical texts, remove free religious speech from the pulpit, and so on. If the secular world progresses into criminalizing Christianity, we may not be left with much choice becuase conservative Christians refuse to give in to our faith even when threated with death.

When it's all said and done, I suppose that in general that Islam and Christianity may have some similarities. Both religions view homosexuality as sin. Both view abortion as murder. Both are willing to defend their faith and die for their faith. Both belive in Creation.

However, Christians do not go around blowing up buses full of children and innocnets in the name of their God. There are some importatnt differences though. if you want to read the article about these UK evangelicals who might be setting the stage for a worldwide revolution against the seculars who wish to tea down our faith, here is the link.
