Is Rosie O'Donnell a Heterophob?
February 21, 2007 12:01 AM EST

In America today men who are attracted to the opposite sex are often ridiculed and mocked on the basis of their sexual orientation. I am a so called straight man, a heterosexual, and though I don't have straight pride parades or straight days at Disneyworld to honor the fact that I am attracted to the opposite sex, nevertheless I am proud to say that I have come out of the garage and now proclaim my sexuality to the world. Yes I'm straight and I am here to stay.

Predicated on the fact that I believe I should be treated as normal, along with my life partner, who we in the straight community call a wife, imagine my shock and dismay when I learned that Rosie O'Donnell has hosted and then gone on a cruise for gays and their families and friends, a so called gay cruise. Straights don't have cruises and now apparently there are cruises which don't have straights, unless their guests of the chosen few.

Rosie O'Donnell is an icon in America, she represents the best and the brightest within the acting community. If the Miss America contest would just eliminate all their standards Rosie O'Donnell could be a contestant, she's that special. As a leader I believe Rosie O'Donnell should denounce all forms of discrimination, to include gay pride days and gay cruises, which only serve to divide gays and straights in America. If she is unwilling or unable to do this we in the heterosexual community have a right to ask, “is Rosie O'Donnell tolerant”? Does she have such an aversion to straights that she could be properly classified as a heterophob a victim of the social disease of heterophobia?
