It’s the result of The Fall.

Our first parents sinned. The devil made them do it, not God. That brought about damage to the physical body, the planet, and the soul. Regarding the physical body, there resulted all sorts of off-kilter dimensions, one involving sexuality.

Therefore, when egg unites with sperm to form the homo sapien in a womb, that conception contains damaged goods per The Fall.

One of those damaged properties’ evidences is the homosexual drive.

Therefore, homosexuals are born, not decided upon by the mortal. Little children sense the homosexual drive and that continues into puberty and beyond.

Some mortals cannot deal with the drive and therefore commit suicide.

Others conclude that there’s something magic about monogamous heterosexual marriage ceremonies. That event in itself will change the homosexual partner into a heterosexual. But that is naïve, not true.

Still others decide to "out" and be done with it.

However, in all of this God is not the source of homosexuality. The devil is. He is the one who caused the imbalance in mortals, the planet and the soul.

What about homosexuals who want to be religious apart from the divine revelation — Scripture? They then baptize themselves as religious. That’s it. They are religious but cannot be biblically Christian. There are hosts of religious homosexuals who defy the Scripture. That is their choice. They have free will by which to conclude anything religious and otherwise. But their religion is not of the God of the Bible.

However, what about homosexuals who convert to Christ and then believe the Scripture as their moral base? Then are these homosexuals to remain celibate for life? What a strain, some put forth?

It surely is so. It can be strain.

But what about the countless numbers of heterosexuals who never marry under God but still have the normal heterosexual drive? These biblical Christians remain celibate for life, though sometimes it is quite difficult.

Being in the ministry almost half a century, I have pastored to scores of such pure believers, so I know what I’m writing about.

In either case, the homosexual or heterosexual, the Christian life is one of discipline. One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is self-control. That virtue must be put in place when a homosexual comes to Christ as Lord of his or her life.

It is possible, though at times difficult, just as it is possible, though at times difficult, for the unmarried heterosexual — male or female.

There are some who state that homosexuals can be healed. How can I as a mortal among mortals make a final judgment on that? I can’t.

However, I am very skeptical of quick healings and multitudinous healings. I just don’t believe that such is widespread though there are lots of testimonies to contradict what I conclude. And there are evangelical organizations laden with so-called changed homosexual-to-heterosexual mortals.

I, an evangelical, remain skeptical. The strong drive is there from birth. It usually is there till death, though with the God of the Bible, any miracle change is possible for there is nothing impossible with the God of the Bible.

There are those who contend that some teen-agers become homosexual due to pressure from homosexuals. That may be true. In adolescence, there is a time frame of sexual confusion in many teen lives. In that time frame, I would think it possible that a youth in flux about sexuality could be brainwashed in the homosexual direction.

That is why these homosexual clubs in schools and the like are dangerous. They are dangerous from a variety of perspectives. One of them is that some teens who go into those clubs may be in a quandary about their sexual orientation. Then they are brainwashed into a homosexual position that they adopt for life. They in fact may have turned out to be heterosexual for their adult lives and not homosexuals at all.

Bottom line: homosexuality is the result of The Fall. God did not and does not create homosexuals. The damaged goods evidenced at the time of conception bring about some persons to be homosexual rather than heterosexual.

Homosexuality goes back, not to Creation, but to The Fall.
