Dr. William Gray, the famous hurricane forecaster, has taken the ultimate career risk.  He has publically said what so many of us on the Right have been saying, that Al Gore is "a gross alarmist" for his Global Warming hoax.  The difference is he has the credentials.

Dr. Gray is no hack.  He is a scientist, a real expert.  This is his field of expertise. 

Now, we all know what will happen next. 

Possibility 1: Dr. Gray will be forced to publically apologize and retract his statement as we have seen in so many cases in which people in similar positions make the mistake of telling an "inconvenient truth."

Possibility 2: Dr. Gray will be reprimanded or fired.

Possibility 3: (The one on which I'll place my wager) Dr. Gray is 77.  Its about time for him to be put to pasture anyway and that may be why he's not hesitating to tell the truth.  Poor old guy.  It must be about time for him to retire.  He'll certainly be dismissed by the bulk of the scientific establishment.  He'll also score a contract with one of the news channels as an analyst.

It takes guts to speak the truth to power.  The kind of guts we wish we could find in some our 'conservative' elected officials.  Perhaps this will be the beginning of the long march back to sanity in our public policy.  I'm not holding my breath.
