The word “science” is initially defined as being one branch, or the many branches, of knowledge or studies dealing with bodies of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws. Also, it’s the systematic knowledge of the physical or material world, gained by experimentation and/or observation. As long as science seeks after the whole truth, and gathers in all available facts to structure its conclusions, “science” can be a wonderful thing.
But we have the actuality of transition to deal with, or rather “lost of original purpose”. As science became “lost in the woods”, a bur (a seed vessel having hooks or prickles) attached itself, and what emerged from the field was “secular” science. The word “secular” is defined as pertaining to worldly, or temporal things, or to things that are not regarded as being religious, sacred, or spiritual.
While in this undesirable state, the “world” of science became married to humanism. Humanism is defined as the mode of thought (or actions) in which human dignity, interests, and values predominate. It’s the ethical theory and practice that emphasizes human fulfillment, reason, and scientific inquiry, solely in the natural world, and rejects any consideration of, or belief in, God.
In this article, we are limiting ourselves to the sciences of Biology, Cosmology, and Paleontology. When conclusions were made that lead to establishing the “theory of evolution”, what followed were humanist theories of the “Big Bang”, the Nebular Hypothesis, and the “Primordial Soup”. These sciences have “lost their way”, by being joined to the humanist way of thought, and have worshipped the idol god of Atheism. The “god” of Atheism requires that all other viable facts, possibilities, and truths be excluded, and only the physics of our natural existence be used to explain our origins, no matter how foolish they may be.
What ever happened to “the facts or truths systematically arranged”? If a valuable coin is lost in the dark, on the north side of the street, what sense does it make to only examine the area under the street light on the south side of the street? If the goal is to never find the lost coin, and to conjure up a suitable substitute, then that will suffice. But to tell falsehoods to the public, saying that the coin was found, and “closure has been attained”, science has become an enemy of mankind.
Has science remained married to humanism, because it has lost it’s belief in God long ago?
Or is it because Theology has not given the correct interpretation of Genesis, such that the world of science does not respect “the word of God”? If secular science were to learn that Genesis has previously unknown advanced information about the prehistoric past, would science “divorce” itself from the burden of humanism, which impedes the progress of mankind?
