Pirating an Election
October 07, 2007 02:00 PM EST

Pirating an election is what it's all about.

What's happening isn't what it appears to be. Hillary and Obama appear to be trading blows, fighting each other for the Democratic nomination. 'Taint so, however. Hillary and Obama have teamed up. Hillary and Bill and George Soros are crouching behind Obama, and one or all have their hands stuffed up his shirt and are operating him like a hand puppet.

Hillary can't go too far left, can't appease the left wing too much, can't show her true colors. She's like a pirate ship flying the British flag until she creeps slowly up on the unsuspecting cargo schooner, at which time (after the election) she'll drop the White Ensign and run up the Jolly Roger, skull-and-crossbones of the left wing pirate that she is. But by looking tougher on the war in Iraq, she risks alienating the true believers who have latched on to MoveOn.org as their official home. That's where Obama comes in. He tacks farther and farther left, making more and more anti-war statements, refusing to wear the American flag, thus becoming the darling of the anti-war anti-American wing of the Democratic party.

Meanwhile, back at the campaign finance ranch, by appearing to be fighting it out, they both can draw loads of money from their various constituencies. Then, guess what? They are both on the ticket, Hillary as Captain Bluebeard and Obama as first mate, and they have a gigantic treasure chest of money when they combine both their stashes.

Meanwhile, along the way, there are other advantages. Hillary avoids the front-runner curse. People who get too far ahead can lose momentum, as their followers don't see the need for continued hard work and fund-raising, for example.

Hillary and Bill and George have fabricated Obama as a marvelous political device to propel Hillary into the nomination and the presidency. It is a ruse that is working brilliantly so far.
