We have a menagerie of candidates to choose from; a woman, an African-American, a Hispanic, a do-gooder obsessed with poverty, a former mayor of a city I don’t call "America’s city", and a Mormon, among the field of a former POW, and a movie star. Ethically, who is the best candidate to push the modern day renaissance forward? In the 14th century the renaissance was about the fear and the imminent power of the Catholic Church. Today’s renaissance is more about preserving our natural resources and basically sustaining ourselves into the next millennium or at least, our children and then some.
With the advent of robotics, many people are out of work. With broad-based freedoms, consumable mood altering drug use is at an all time high. With our ever consuming debt, our children's children's children's children's children's children will have to pay 10,000 dollars a month for the next 800 years to pay it off.
Without manual dexterity or a brain to manage our resources, how is that going to be possible? Will the wolfpack around the world wait for the intelligent, resistant entity to die so that the wolfpack can seize the moment or dramatically change the political landscape for the next 800 years? Will there be any resources to plunder for the wolfpack?I am more concerned for the health of the entity than the carnivore.
Have we overbuilt our metropolitan areas with a glut of empty houses, buildings, apartments? Apparently there is not enough people to fill them.
And where did prosperity go awry with the forward movement of providing enough jobs to match the number of people qualified to buy houses?
