Given all the lies and misconceptions in the Inconvenient Truth, it is most important to note the one quote Gore used to ridicule his detractors as being ignorant was ironically attributed to the wrong author. Gore treated the following quote as a factual statement from Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) when it was really a quote from Josh Billings. The irony of this factual error from Gore who is purporting to be so accurate, clearly establishes the trend for errors and lies in the well recognized fraudulent “an Inconvenient Truth.”
Gore quoted Mark Twain as saying: "It's not what you know that gets you in trouble, its what you know that just ain't so, that gets you in trouble."
This is the most accurate statement he could have used for his film. What Gore thinks he knows just ain’t so and it has got him and people that believe him in a world of trouble.
