We can push a button and the television, stereo and fireplace, yes fire all come on. We can clap our hands and light up a room. It's absolutely amazing what we have accomplished. In the sciences alone (with the exception of Al Gore) we have leaped over 1000 years of experimentation and discovery, in literature, technology, space travel and a myriad of advances, our nation set the mark.
Just looking back less then 100 years one soon realizes just how amazing WE THE PEOPLE truly are.
Our founding fathers came together to realize a potential of a people. None of them could possibly fathom the spirit that was being birthed as a result of a desire to be free. Most of us know the history; a simply turning back of the pages will undoubtedly take you to the word, FREEDOM. Equally, several generations thereafter, insisted that what is a birth right would not be easily tossed aside or stolen. The American emerged.
We can look into the heart of strangers, literally. We are a people that taught a planet how to communicate, instantly and over great distance. We have fed countries and saved nations. It is the American commitment to freedom that has always been our steadfast goal.
The American Indian suffered, the African people suffered, the Jewish people, the Irish, the Italian, the Polish, and Asian....everybody suffered! To what degree you might ask? Well, to the degree that one was willing to fight, persevere and overcome! All prospered at different times and by different means. It has always been about what you wanted and how bad you wanted to have it...in AMERICA you could get it. That holds true even today.
WE THE PEOPLE made such a difference that we truly are an original. We are the first, free nation made up of all of the nations of the world. Some have called us, The Melting Pot.
The entire global community eventually wanted to come and see our brilliance, we radiated liberty. With magnificence, we beckoned millions like a beacon in both the storm and the calm, day or night, the WORLD came.
During the last 100 years many came to our shores for one reason, FREEDOM! We were no longer an idea; we were a place to go, a place to have and a place to be. With a new identity, an adopted spirit (our spirit) families poured into our home and we mentored them and offered to them our way. We forged a path and those that understood fought the fight and traveled along with us collectively, WE THE PEOPLE made a difference. WE all paid a price.
Now, I don't use big words and I don't have degree after degree. I do have certain knowledge of how things work and a bit of learned wisdom these days. I had tremendous teachers and role models to benefit from. Not necessarily isolated to family or school although I will mention Mrs. Culpepper, my third grade teacher from PS # 19 in Rochester, NY. Mrs. Culpepper taught me how to read. I will mention my Art teacher, Mzz. Harris (smile) from George Jr. Republic, Freeville, NY. Mzz Harris showed me how to paint! Victor Hall, my math teacher from Wilson High School, taught me how to drive. (I kept stealing his car) My mother taught me how to persevere and my father well, he didn't teach much.
In studying the first page of our history, right up to present day, I realize all of YOU, taught me. To your credit and my ever present love for America, throughout our short history so many said, "how can I help?"
The God of my Bible, (And no...Bin Laden's god is not mine) was invited regularly into our government at prayer time. Our founding fathers clearly invoked his name while planning our Republic. Most of our academia was people of conviction! Not about the mundane but, about life, the eternal possibility of it and the wonder of the whole experience. Harvard was a Christian College as an example. No matter how intolerant we have become, facts are facts...truth is still truth.
We have become something else these days not just intolerant but, something reprehensible! I simply cannot imagine Abraham Lincoln loving on Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid! Likewise, Frederick Douglas Jr. would undoubtedly utter, "Snoop what?"
People are saying that we must take God out of America. We must separate Christianity from the fabric that is America. That's simply not possible. So now, we collectively must fight. We have to persevere not as Christians but, as Americans! The Christians are under attack but so is our freedom. In fact, everything that is America is being challenged. We are being challenged with our laws, our morality, our history, and ultimately, our way. American History is not about Abbey Hoffman or Timothy Leary!
If gay marriage were the norm 200 years ago I fear we would not radiate at all today. Incidentally, I do not hate gay people, Osama does! If 200 years ago our courts were ruled by judges, how many laws would we be trying to accommodate by now? If the slave was never free, what would an African American be? If the twin Towers had never been built, we would not know this pain! Our neighbors, who lost innocent family and friends would not weep for the balance of their lives.
China is finally benefiting from our industrial revolution; it took them years to get into the game. The Russian people are living among us, it took years for them to be free and the Muslim people well, who knows what to expect from them. They are killing us or watching us be killed.
Yes, we will kill you, back!
WE THE PEOPLE articulate our pride only when over 3000 people are blown out of the sky! Sadly, a handful does it with whips and chains in the streets of San Francisco. That kind of pride is not what I am addressing. We watch our elected officials sit at the same table as our President and then march halfway around the world and bow before those that are killing our children! The indignity of knowing that the Jerry Springer show will broadcast right after I love Lucy, somewhere in America is NOT a laughing matter. None of this is.
Bill Cosby tells of a little boy who was returned home after getting in trouble. The police officer who returned this child to his home watched as the little boy went immediately to fetch a bowl of cereal. When the officer asked, "Is your mother here?" The child replied..."she's over there, dead!" His mother was indeed dead and lying on the sofa with a syringe in her arm! This can never be acceptable and yet it is repeated, daily.
Are WE THE PEOPLE a "Melting Rot" WE are at war with tolerance and multiculturalism instead of homosexuality.
WE THE PEOPLE are suggesting that God not be allowed to do,” this or that.” The absurdity in thinking that we can regulate God. We did not kick God out of the school system, he left!
WE THE PEOPLE are not exercising humility, we are demanding individualism! Should this philosophy win, the spirit of America, will surely die.
We are being swarmed by a gauntlet of unhealthy, destructive, jealous, enemies and our INDIVIDUALISM is dividing our greatness, separating us from one another. Are we being primed for a kill or just killing ourselves? Our borders are coming down with such veracity that it seems calculated, to me. I know that I am not alone but, no one else will march with me, rally the cause, close down the nation in protest.
Are we really rotting on the vine? Are we ushering in the end of another great idea? Will they read about Rome and America on the same page sooner than later? (Why do we think that America is incapable of dying?)
Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. He dreamed of little black children and little white children playing together. He dreamed of freedom and equality. He dared to dream when our nation needed a dreamer!
Well, I have a prayer and so I am PRAYING. (If you can beat yourself, while naked on a public street, with whips and chains, then I can pray. Knowing that some will kill their unborn baby because of an, “inconvenient truth” demands that I pray!
I pray that families are restored. That neighbors talk to each other. I am praying
that teachers get to know families. I pray that they themselves are supportive people, not distorted people. I pray that we fight for our country and the character that is the spirit of AMERICA.
I pray that those who love our country begin to say, out loud that, "enough is enough." I pray that drugs and hopelessness be vanquished. I pray that people stop hating and begin to heal. I pray that our leadership stop compromising our spirit. I PRAY THAT YOU WILL MARSHAL THE GUTS TO PUT DOWN YOUR REMOTE CONTROL AND GET INTO THIS FIGHT! I pray that God continue to allow us the opportunity to repent.
[The Scientist, with no reverence at all said to God, "We can make man out of dirt, too!" To which God replied, “Only if I allow you to keep my dirt!" We have never given anyone a soul and yet we are fighting each other in order to clone humanity!]
WE have never enslaved a nation as a result of war. If we lose this battle we will have killed ourselves.
It would appear that humanity resists slavery of any kind with one exception, selfishness. So many these days herald its negative affect as, righteousness. So many of our kids defend narcissism while looking like a bowl of fruit!
Selflessness is only represented on the battlefield, our sons and daughters are once again dying. The heart of our nation is not selfless; we are trying to beat with no rhythm and we are loosing our spirit.
Our enemy (yes they live on this planet, too) sense weakness and they are lining up. Our enemy is circling and they are with in our borders.
In 1979 Iran declared war on our nation. A handful of radical, religious murderers devised a plan to attack us. The whole of the Middle East, sitting on black gold and this is what it produces…lets kill America. This rational boggles the mind! This plan is 30+ years old and they were serious. For the past many years we have not paid attention and now they have every intention of attacking our country. While we do the whip and chain thing and China re-introduces lead to our children.
Many kids are dying but, our kids did not fly airplanes into buildings. Americans don't do stuff like that. We did not gas our neighbors and we are not telling ANY nation on this earth that we are going to destroy them and all of their citizens.
So, in addition to praying, I am writing, developing my blog and screaming as loud as I can because, I don't know what else to do.
Is America truly "A Melting Rot?" I think not but, what say you?
