This Side Of The Great Divide
October 25, 2007 01:57 PM EST

As a reaction to my two editorial reviews of the book “Nemesis…” published in several publications, I have the concerns of the other side – the side that considers America a mortal enemy. In this side of the great divide is where the progressive or Liberals, also most often called the radical Left, garrisons their cause-oriented organizations and political movements, and launches their active ideological activism. It is also the side where those who hate America relentlessly fire their cannons of condemnation of what they perceived as the evil American Empire.

Just as concerned are the defenders of America in the opposite side of the realm. Why the side of the Left thinks America is hated, is plainly argued in these summarized statements: The American government was “moral” when it was originally conceived. From that time on, it was corrupted when historic and powerful forces took over.

A sweeping condemnation follows: We are under a corrupted system of government, and ruled by autocratic bureaucracy run by a clique of corrupt and repressive public officials.

We neither disagree nor doubt the intention of our forefathers to establish a “moral” government. But we can disagree over what was “moral” then, and what is “moral” now when the centuries’ new evolving forces not familiar to them had taken over. Our forebears’ vision of a “moral” government has been replaced by the new concept of what a moral American government should be centuries later, and that new concept – described by the radical Left as forces of corruption, had made this country the richest, the mightiest and the greatest in the known universe.

Our generation is heir to this new and powerful legacy. In spite of this government today which haters of America found objectionable, I beg to disagree … I am proud of America and its government duly chosen by the American people then and now, for making what I am today and for ensuring what the future of my children should be. True there are some rough edges that bruise our brawns, brain and brows, even hurt our egos, but that’s because there are both opportunity and hard work … if we want to live here we have to pound the hard rock to the last ounce of our strength and resolve. Only then from this hard rock would the diamond of life in America sparkles and shines.

Of course I do not and cannot speak for every American in this land … I just speak out the voice of honesty and sincerity and much more of conscience, as well as put into words the truth of my conviction.

I have worked in the UN for more than a decade and have had the opportunity to know and learn the people and the governments of countries all over the world as I worked shoulder to shoulder with diplomats who represented their country interests in this huge global organization. All I can say is that America is the best country humankind can find on the planet. The magnet of attraction brings to our shores even those from enemy countries wanting to live a life of freedom and prosperity here in this land of the free.

I rather find it odd that a few, born and living here, would de-magnetize themselves of this world-known attraction that is America. The direction of human exodus the world over is towards this country – not out of this country. As if to those who hate America, this reality is just a figment of the imagination.

This is the truth. It is not an open-ended truth which radical Liberals may approximate an extended derogatory meaning by calling it a conservative hallucination, which they normally do when they argue in public.

This inward exodus of humankind, is proof of my thesis that if America and its elected government are evil and for anyone to live here is Hell, it would not attract different peoples of the world who come here … we would not have this “immigration invasion” problem … but it does!

Those who come here and settle for good, fight in war and die for this country, are not evil – most if not all fled from Hell [recall the call of the Statute of Liberty for the “rejects” of the world’s despotic regimes]. Therefore America could not be evil, and it is not true let alone foolish for anyone to say that living here is Hell, although to almost nil like Mike Ruppert [who condemned America and admiring Hugo Chavez fled to Venezuela] this land is Hell, in which case malcontents of his kind should find the Heaven they seek in Iran, Syria, Hezbollah’s Palestine or North Korea if not in the proverbial Timbuktu [here Timbuktu is poetry, an escape, a simile … the mythical place of refuge somewhere … elsewhere … nowhere].

On security, the other side is even more delirious in attacking America. Naturally they always have a thousand reasons to attack if they want everybody to hate America.

Preposterous it may seem, this other side says that 9/11 was “an inside job”; it was not the handiwork of Al Qaeda but of the Washington government that wanted to kill the American people for a reason. That reason is immaterial and there is no more need to know what it is when we consider the gravity of this accusation. The radical Left asserted that “others” with scientific knowledge in engineering confirmed this finding. “Others” is phantom and should be ignored because it is a disconnect; it elicits no further relevant interest… unknown, just a howling of the angry wind.

I have not stumbled upon this proof or any proof for that matter, that 9/11 was an internal conspiracy of people in or connected with the government, although the Web is awash with speculations if not inundated with a tsunami of jargons about dragon fires and scientific innuendos. Osama bin Laden and his minions claimed that they had planned the execution of this 9/11 carnage as an act of retribution for America’s global terrorism.

How this is ignored by haters of America is beyond me. This campaign to hate America has been stretched out to and beyond the limit of public credulity.

At most, it is entertaining. There are reports which say that too many versions of 9/11 are in Ian Fleming’s story in the forthcoming 007 cinematographic series.

With reference to the terrorists’ destruction of the Twin Towers’ steel structures, my eldest son is a scientist [physicist scholar & engineer] whose comments I asked for a possible scientific enlightenment in this regard, but who would rather prefer to talk about Islamofascism, i.e. the rising heat of Islamic terrorism is thawing down our iron will to fight Islamic jihad, as well as melting down the steel foundations of our skyline, rather than he would indulge in gossip over this circulated story of implosion engineered by covert scientists and/or caused by a conspiracy from within.

I am a novelette and short story writer, and I found this circulated plot as amateurish as Jessica Fletcher is in Murder, She Wrote starring Angela Lansbury, which is perhaps a better mystery series to kill time in the living room. I would rather go for H.G. Wells’ science fiction … The War In The Air, if I don’t mind my blood pressure hitting the roof to get the same entertainment hype.

Attacks of America from this side of the great divide, have more fireworks than the 4th of July, and more ghosts rising from the catacomb than there are witches on broomsticks, ghouls and goblins we could count in a single Halloween moonless night.
