With all the wailing on the left about the imminent threat to the first amendment, by conservatives, you would think they would be the champions of freedom of speech. Yet they storm around, gestapo like, attempting to silence any point of view that isn't their own.

That has been a tactic of the left for decades, because at heart the left is totalitarian. It's why they love men like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez so much. They are doing what the left in this country only dreams about. All revolutionary, totalitarian systems require the elimination, or, at the very least, the silencing of all opposition. They want to remake the world in their image and they can't be bothered by the pesky conservatives who won't go into the night.

David Horowitz, and other conservatives, are having events on university campuses for Islamo-Fascism week. With all the screaming the left does about fascism one would expect them to sit down and listen. But that's not the case. Apparently a facsist, to an American leftist, is someone who believes and actually worships God peacefully, one who thinks that the government should be less intrusive, that parents should have more say in how their children are raised instead of the government, that America is right to prosecute this war against those that attacked us. When it comes to the real facsists, the ones who use terror as a way to keep people under control, who blow themselves up to get 72 virgins, who hang or crush homosexuals, who stone women for adultery, who perform honor killings on female relatives for "immodesty", who want to create a world wide caliphate where American leftists would find themselves in a very unpleasant situation, they side with the Islamic whackjobs.

Conservative speakers on American universities need security and often come under physical attack from the mentally unhinged mobs of the left. What was it that the left screamed to members of the Minutemen when they were at Columbia University? "You have no right to speak!" Let's repeat that "You have no right to speak!" Right there you can see how much the left cares about free speech, it's pretty obvious their down on the rest of the constitution as well. The Minutemen, patriots, who only want the government to stop the invasion across our southern border, are screamed down and told that freedom of speech does not apply to them. But Iran's neo Nazi President is met with the warmest respect. It appears that totalitarians cooperate with each other.

Then there's talk radio, and more specifically Rush Limbaugh. Talk radio started a conservative counter offensive in the media, which enraged the left by allowing the other side to get their message out. And who was the one man largely responsible for this? It was Rush Limbaugh, the one man who brought the conservative message to the masses. Where's his freedom of speech. The Democratic Congress is desperately trying to get Limbaugh fired, with the ridiculous reasoning that he insulted the troops. And why shouldn't they try? The left is used to corporations caving in to their insane demands.

Instead Rush is keeping his job, much to the anger of the left. So if they can't get rid of one man why not get rid of all talk radio. Not only will they finally get rid of Rush Limbaugh, they will get Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham, and all the others by bringing back the "fairness doctrine" which is fair only to the left.

Free speech is not under assault from conservatives, after all it's not the College Republicans that go around and threaten liberal speakers and burn school newspapers they don't agree with. But free speech is under assault. It's under assault from the leftist politicians who don't like the fact that they go unchallenged in the media, it's under threat from the left wing thugs on campus who think 9-11 was an inside job, and think Che was a man of the people.

So I ask, who's the one trying to run the constitution through the shredder?
