Barack Obama has said, that if elected President, he would use diplomacy to deal with Iran. That's the ticket. That's what will make the worlds largest terrorist state shiver in fear, an incessant barrage of diplomats and summits. It gets better. To ensure that Iran cooperates and gives up supporting terrorism and building nuclear weapons to create an fanatical Persian empire, Obama would be willing to give Iran a place in the World Trade Organization.
We have been engaging the Iranians since 1979. Ever since the semi literate mullahs came to power we've been trying to play nice to them. Trying to get them to behave in a civilized manner, by talking to them. The problem is, that it just doesn't work.
Democrats, and professional diplomats, don't really believe in everything. It's all negotiable. Since they don't believe in anything they find it impossible that someone really believes in anything. When Iran says "Death to America" and they are going to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, those aren't political slogans for the masses that don't really mean anything. It's the foundation of what the Islamic Republic is based on. It's not something that they are going to forfeit at the negotiating table. They don't care whether they get to join the WTO or not. It's not something they're going to negotiate on.
To put it in a different way when you have a nation run by sociopaths that believes in world domination based on their religious law, and that to get there the "great satan" and the "little satan" must be wiped out. That's not something that can be talked away, and I don't think any reasonable person should try to negotiate with a nation like that.
Iran continues to support terrorism, they continue to subvert Iraq, and continue to pursue nuclear weapons to hold the world hostage. After all, who's going to stop them. Most countries enable them or appease them.
The Problem with Iran is only going to be solved when there is regime change in Tehran(something Obama promised he wouldn't pursue). The region will never be peaceful or stable as long as the mullahs are in charge. We have one advantage, the Iranian population despises their overlords. If we don't want a nuclear armed, sharia run, Iran it would be in our best interests to support the Iranian people and help them overthrow one of the worst tyrannies in the world.
