Ashinoff for President in 2008!
November 16, 2007 01:00 PM EST

Considering the abundance of “highly qualified” candidates being offered to the American people for President of the United States, all of which are (in my view)no better suited to lead this nation that I am, I have decided to throw my hat into the race for President of the United States in 2008. It is my belief that, to the man (and Hillary is only technically female in my opinion) none of these candidates is truly in the best interests of my country. Further, I contend that most of these career politicians are less good for this nation than I am.

As a former Republican I am appalled at the lackluster globalist offerings of the GOP. For far too many years the Republican Party has offered the American people insincere candidates driven by agendas that are not in the best interests of this country. Today, we have a wide variety of personalities vying for the Republican nomination. Unfortunately, none of the candidate really energizes the base or compels independent voters to the Republican platform.

Arizona Senator John McCain. Shouldn’t it be thoroughly offensive to Republican voters that Senator McCain, after his many attempts to seduce the liberal left, after selling out his conservative base, and after repeated attempts to legalize millions illegal Mexican nationals, is afforded any serious degree of consideration for President of the United States?. So sincere was his efforts to court the liberal vote that failed Presidential candidate John Kerry flirted with the idea of offering Mr. McCain a spot on his 2004 ticket as Vice-President. How can any true conservative trust anything Mr. McCain says after witnessing such blatant and smug political pandering?

New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Although I hold the former New York Mayor in the highest regard for his handling of the tragedy which befell New York on September 11th 2001, which should never be trivialized, I believe his financial ties greatly weaken his ability to focus solely on the good of our nation. Because Bracewell & Giuliani LLP’s 400 lawyers represent many global security interests that could currently or one day have business before the federal government, Mr. Giuliani (who still works part time with his firm despite his statement to extract himself entirely to campaign)may one day find himself in a conflict of interest. In my view mayor Giuliani would best serve this country as the Head of the Department of Homeland Security.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is certainly charismatic, but one has to wonder how a Conservative comes to power in a state dominated by the likes of John Kerry and the Kennedy Family. There is also serious concern over Romney’s conviction to conservative principals and constitutional rights. How does a devout religious man, a Mormon Stake President no less, ever make major concessions on the issues of abortion and homosexual marriage? How does a constitutional conservative not vehemently support the second amendment?

Ron Paul, probably the only real constitutionally conservative choice, has one huge glaring weakness. His stance on America’s actions in Iraq and Afghanistan and his desire to retreat is simply the wrong course of action that will, in my view, open this country to unprecedented danger from those empowered by such a withdrawal (tactical or otherwise). America can ill afford to isolate itself in the world, Iraq wasn’t attacked under false pretenses, and three thousand American lives deserve more respect than a forgotten stain on America’s conscience. Surely, Mr. Paul is old enough to remember the aftereffects of Vietnam.

The only thing to be said of the Democrat offerings for President in 2008 is yuck. Can the Democrat party offer up anyone who is not a socialist or have socialist leanings? Based on their own statements one has to wonder if any of these people actually experienced life in American society?

Presidential hopeful Congressman Barak Obama’s personal conviction prohibits him from putting his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance? Senator Hillary Clinton wants to create a mega entitlement that will dole out five thousand tax payer dollars to every child born in the United States while simultaneously glossing over a long line of ignorance claims over matters any moderately astute human being would have been painfully aware of? John Edwards gets $400 haircuts and lives in a 28,000 square foot home in North Carolina while claiming to understand the hardships of the American middle class?

Do the Democrats actually believe that six years of anti-American rhetoric and fallacious accusations against our troops and our President are to be forgotten simply because its election time? Is it too much to ask for even a little bit of vaseline before the Democrats have their way with us? Please.

Ashinoff for President in 2008! Perhaps the most obvious question is why I would want to be President of the United States. Frankly, I don’t. But I do think I’d be in the best interests of this nation more so than the array of interests bickering on television today. Why? It’s easy. I’m not a politician.

Unlike the majority of those candidates offered by the big two, I’ve lived a life. I’ve worked for my necessities and have never known otherwise. My haircuts cost $12.00 and my family is quickly outgrowing my home. I’ve owned a business and, when it began to fail, stopped taking my salary – much to my wife’s justifiable displeasure - long before I was forced to let people go. I’ve felt the emasculation of bankruptcy and worked my way through it. I tried Marijuana when I was younger … I even inhaled. I served my nation honorably in the United States Navy. I did have the stereotypical woman in every port. And yes, I did have relations with many of those women.

My Americanism often conflicts with my beliefs. I have a sense of strained faith but not religion. I have a tendency to lie to those I love. I tend to confess when I’m wrong and even apologize. I support a woman’s right to choose, provided her choice doesn’t obligate another person to pay her for her choice for eighteen years. I respect knowledge, integrity, nationalism, and history. I loathe liberals, socialism, communism, government dependence, taxes in general and stupidity as a consequence of laziness.
On the issue of national security and American sovereignty I believe in strict border security which includes the use of walls, well armed troops with standing order to fire, armed drone aircraft, razor wire and land mines to protect the American people. I believe border security is both a federal and state matter regardless of the wording of the Constitution. Anyone, regardless of station, who condones the illegal invasion of our nation by providing water stations in the desert, providing sanctuary in a church, or giving illegal’s aliens jobs are criminals to be prosecuted for treason against the people of the United States. I believe that Mexico, by her words and history of deeds, is less of a friend and more of an enemy to the United States of America. I detest the voice of Vicente Fox.

It is my belief that the National Guard, Coast Guard, and the Air National Guard are maintained solely for Domestic defense (border guard) and national emergencies and should never be deployed to foreign lands. I believe in taking action based on the best information available at the time when action is needed. Second guessing after the fact, although an American right, does not affix condemnation for actions taken in a sincere effort to protect this country or its interests.

I support the use of preemptive military force when called for. I believe that precision missiles and skies filled with a seemingly endless procession of stealth bombers should carpet bomb our enemy’s cities long before one pair of American boots touches enemy soil. I have no issue with the torture of foreign terrorists as a consequence of saving American lives. I believe one American life is worth the entire populace of any nation or group of nations on this earth. Conversely, I contend that the use of force should not be used casually and that deliberate misuse of force is an act of treason and a legitimate crime against humanity.

I believe that I grew up pledging allegiance to a Republic that no longer exists. The federal government has far exceeded its constitutional mandate. It is my belief that entitlements in this country are undermining the can-do spirit of our American nation. Left unchecked, this foreign sentiment will eventually lead down a path of total societal dependence, where the governing elite dictate everything in our lives- from salaries to healthcare, from wages to what you can say, and even how many children we are "allowed" to have.

The American President’s focus should be firmly set on the needs of his people and nation. The welfare of Mexico, Africa, and Iraq should be only a distant tertiary concerns to even the most insignificant needs of the American people. Is not the welfare of another nation, by our own definition, the responsibility of those people and their government? Does not our “goodwill efforts” invalidate and undermine the responsibility of a sovereign nation’s authority to rule it own people?

An American President shouldn’t squander the people’s time worrying about the economy and wellbeing of Mexico, the butchery of Darfur, or the spread of AIDs in Africa unless there is a legitimate security concern or a genuine national interest in the matter. The demand for oil, water, shipping routes, border incursions, threats against the American people, and threats to American business interests overseas have been and always will be legitimate reasons for war. Blind idealism has never stopped a suicide bomber, Islam is not the religion of peace, illegal aliens are criminals, the United Nations is not our friend, and appeasement will never intercept a nuclear missile.

Even though some may consider my opinions extreme, my views are entirely focused on America, the protection and welfare of the American people, and the preservation of an intact free American society for future generations. I suspect that my views more closely represent those Americans whose blood resembles that of Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, and Reagan.

Hopefully by presenting myself as a Presidential candidate I have helped to highlight the disparity between the average American and the poll driven millionaire elitists running for political office today. The purpose of an election is to promote an American who will protect and preserve our nation; not a social engineer who will seek to change our country to conform to some failed socialist utopian ideology or a globalist who diligently works to bring about a one world government.

If I am elected President of the United States, the bureaucracy in Washington would actually shrink, states would regain their power, our allies would be defended, nations harmful to America wouldn’t be given “most favored” status regardless of their wealth, and America will no longer be the world’s policeman or welfare provider.

Perhaps the most important reason to consider me, Allan J. Ashinoff, for President of the United States is that I actually believe that as long as we have a Constitution and a lawful freedom loving populace, the America many of us grew up believing in can be salvaged from the fetid mess of the 60’s generation and restored to offer the fulfilling promise our forefathers envisioned.
