The Republican primaries are rapidly approaching. In a matter of months the Republican party should have its nomination wrapped up, with its standard-bearer for the 2008 election chosen.
As of yet, however, not one vote has been cast. There is still time to consider carefully and choose the true conservative candidate. And that candidate is Tom Tancredo.
Tom Tancredo has an A+ rating from the American Conservative Union, an A from the National Right to Life Committee, an A from the National Rifle Association, an A from the Family Research Council, an A from the National Taxpayers Union, an A+ from Americans for Better Immigration, and an A+ from the the National Federation of Independent Business. That sounds rather conservative, doesn't it ?
On the critical issue of immigration, which impacts so many issues and will determine the future of our nation, no candidate has shown the leadership of Tom Tancredo. Tancredo has been warning about the problems of our porous border and out of control immigration policy for years, while other Republicans were trying to ignore the problem or making it worse. Tancredo founded the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus and has been a leader in the fight to enact a new amnesty, which would only make things worse and encourage more illegal immigration. In fact, Tancredo's leadership has influenced other candidates to at least sound like they are concerned about the problem. And unlike many politicians, Tancredo has the courage to approach immigration not only as an economic or legal issue, but as an issue of culture and national identity.
On Iraq, Tancredo has pointed out the necessity of Iraqis taking control of their own security, that American soldiers cannot continue indefinitely doing police work in Iraq, but that the U.S. needs to maintain a strategic presence in the region.
Concerning the War on Terror, Tancredo is the only candidate who will take the bull by the horns and point out the fact that Islamic Terrorism has something to do with the Islamic Religion. That's considered a taboo point of view among most of political elite . When confronted by an angry Muslim lady at a campaign appearance, Tancrado didn't back down. He asked her point blank if she wanted to replace the U.S. Constitution with Islamic Sharia law. She responded indignantly , but failed to answer in the negative.
Tom Tancredo understands that the U.S. is not simply an economic entity, but has a culture as well, and is part of Western Civilization. His courage has pitted him against the politically correct shibboleths of both parties.
Who's the real conservative candidate ? It's Tom Tancredo, and he deserves your vote.
