Who really belongs on the T-shirts
December 31, 2007 01:00 PM EST

Ernesto [Che] Guevara has his face on shirts, tattoos, posters and merchandise that are there to praise that man. There are books and documentaries that whitewash the things this T-shirt "hero" [or T-shirt idiot to be more accurate]. How did Che who was a BIT [Bloodthirsty Idiotic Thug] become such a remarkable legend, where people blindly follow him while knowing nothing about the man? There are heroes whose faces should be on the places where Che's is. They are the Cuban Americans and other Cubans [not Batista] who resisted Che's and Castro's horrors as well as Castro's political prisoners whoa re there for disagreeing with him and the ones who were killed in the firing squad for disagreeing with that tyrant. The Bay of Pigs veterans [the Bay of Pigs was not an American invasion but an attempt by a handful of Cuban Americans to free their country from Castro’s tyranny] should also be on the shirts. It is truly they who are combating oppression and/or courageous.

During the missile crisis, the Castro regime really was going to use nuclear missiles on the US even though it would have destroyed Cuba. The Soviets did not want a nuclear war with the US and took them out of Cuba. Sometime later, the T-shirt BIT said, ''If the missiles remained in Cuba, they would have hit the heart of America including New York City."

Yet this is the guy who fought "oppression." Pro-Castro propagandists and the brainwashed people who wear Che T-shirts say that Che fought for the oppressed people in Latin America. If so, then how come rather than advocating for democracy, then he helped created and served under the Castro dictatorship, a dictatorship that is far worse than the Batista one. He was the chief jailer and chief executioner. Humberto Fontova said in the Mike Levin show that prisoners of Castro’s saw that Che was happy to see people sent to the firing squad. The people were there for disagreeing with Castro. They had no access to a lawyer. They had no trial nor habeas Corpus. They had these "tribunals" where they're declared guilty and then sentenced to death. They were decided that they were guilty before the military "tribunals."

He then served as minister of industries. That was when he helped Castro turn Cuba into a Communist country. The economy was in shatters and destroyed ever since thanks to Castro's regime. It had one of the best economies under Batista but one of the worst under Castro. In 1965, Che was dismissed to spread revolution elsewhere. He tried unsuccessfully in Africa and then in different South American countries. Then he tried to spread the Communist revolution in Bolivia. If Che and his little fighters won, then Bolivia would have turned into a Communist dictatorship with parallels to the Castro one. Bolivia was already a democracy. The peasants owned land and were happy. They had no reason to support their so-called liberator. "We had land reform since 1952. So every peasant was the owner of his piece of land. We had a democratic government and we had free press,'' Monica Mochicao, a Bolivia journalist, told the History channel and is shown saying that in the HC-documentary about Che Guevara.

Che fled from the fire-fight. He was caught by Bolivian soldiers. He said, ''Don't shoot. I'm Che. I'm more important alive than dead.'' Che got a taste of his own medicine when the Bolivians executed him.

But these Cuban-Americans and other Cubans who are trying to free Cuba are trying to free their country. Castro's victims also died and were locked up for disagreeing with Castro. So it is they, not Che Guevara, who should have their faces as praise in the merchandise, shirts, and tattoos.
