Baggage? What Baggage
December 21, 2007 12:00 PM EST

Matt Towery made the following observation in his column at Townhall:

“If Clinton survives all of her baggage and all the potential bad news from early caucuses and primaries, and goes on to win the Democratic nomination, it's my guess that she would defeat any of the major GOP candidates.”

What baggage is he talking about? No one in the media, even Fox, is seriously reporting on Clinton’s baggage. Oh, the editorialists are yelling from the rafters, but no one takes them seriously- so we are told.

She is getting a free pass by the media on her sordid past. Her campaign organization and supporters in the media and the Democratic Party are digging up the dirt and reporting it on all of her candidates; from both parties. Yet, very little is coming out about her.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have demonstrated the worst aspects of human nature in there selfish and greedy quest for wealth and power. Where are all of the past reports of sleaze in their dealings? How come none of the grimy details are not coming out on their business, legal, and dirty political dealings over the past thirty years. Hillary claims she has over thirty years of service, progressive service. She has thirty years of service in the miasma of dirty dealings and dirty politics. Where is the outcry? The vetting is the key. Hillary has claimed that she has been vetted. By whom? Who or what agency has given her a clean bill of health?

Except for the Conservative opinion makers and bloggers, she is clean as a whistle. The Democratic Party is behind her one hundred percent- she is the chosen one- and the media is supporting her through their lack of candor and reportage. Her nickname could be "Hands Off Hillary."

Inevitable, chosen, the candidate, the one; these are the glowing terms used when referred to Hillary. Hillary is slated to be the next President. Ask her, she will tell you. Few of the other candidates of either party have the hubris to make such claims; “I am the one.” Even Liberal journalists who do not like her and the far Lefties, who consider her a traitor, have given her the kid gloves treatment. The Republicans, by contrast, eat their young.

Hillary’s baggage may come out when she wins the nomination, but if it gets too dirty, the Clinton spin machine will go into effect. They are very good. They have been at it a very long time. No dirt sticks to them very long. Look how popular Bill Clinton is today. Look how popular he was when he was going through his travails. This is planned. The Clintons are very very good at playing defense. It is planned and is a major part of their campaign strategy.

They can make the media bow to them and sing their tune. When they get through, everyone asks what- name your negative? One glaring example: why won’t the National Archives, a government agency responsible for Presidential library documents, release Hillary Clinton’s records from her time as First Lady? This has been reported tamely. No major media outlet is screaming, demanding, or threatening law suits. George W. Bush is not even allowed to throw out a piece of scrap paper with out the threat of criminal indictment, in comparison.

This fair play, ignoring her past, refusal to report, and other media lapses is not only irresponsible, it is unethical. Hillary should be put under the same microscope of scrutiny that all if the other candidates are under. Of course, if that happened she would no longer be inevitable.
