11 Point Guide: Voting For President
January 18, 2008 01:00 PM EST

Today, the media seems to place importance on a candidate from their popularity standings, or links to those of popularity. It seems the lesser known you are; the lower you will rank in the final vote numbers. What about the personal integrity of the candidate? What about that person’s principals? We seem to have lost these critical points in making our choice at the ballot box. We must remember that the choice we do make will guide our nation in either a positive or negative direction. The positive direction would naturally be more individual wealth and most important of all, more individual freedom. Do we have the greatest freedom that we would like, even today? What if the most popular candidate runs on increasing jobs for the people, but will not support this after being elected? What about health care and most important of all health care “freedom”, i.e., the “choice” of how we maintain our health? We must also remember that the candidate who is receiving the greatest “big business” funding to run their campaign will tend to favor the needs and wants of those who have contributed to their campaign. Do we want big companies ruling, or influencing our lives, now, or in the future?

11 More Questions To Ask Yourself Before Voting

1. Does the candidate hold the nation’s founding principles that has kept the country “free”?

2. Do we really know the candidate we have chosen?

3. Is the candidate we have chosen being supported by the interests of big business?

4. Does the candidate base their platform on freedom of our founding fathers?

5. Is the present candidate in office and if so, what is their present and past record?

6. How is the candidate running on their own personal ethics, or someone else’s?

7. Do you just follow a family trend, such as republican, democrat, or do you vote for the person?

8. How involved are you in studying each of the candidate's and is their platform really honest?

9. What changes are being made now that will lessen our freedom in the near future?

10. Can the speeches being made by the candidates be substantiated to some degree?

11. Which candidates are marketing "deceptive" claims to gain their election?

If you can say that you have at least considered searching possible answers for at least half of these questions, our nation will be greater for it, but if you chose to select a candidate by using a "pin the tail on the donkey" method, then the results will be accordingly. Today, more than ever, whom we chose for our next president is of greater importance than ever before. Directions on the selections of our future destiny will be made, at least to a great extent, which will cover the choices and directions of our participation in the attempts to reverse our present environmental problems, not only "global warming", but the pollution of our air, soils and water supply. Another big issue here in the U.S. is how our medical care is handled. Will the election of our choice as president give us more "freedom" to chose the method of medical care we chose, such as "natural disease prevention", if we chose, or will we have less freedom to chose, or none at all? Is the candidate running for president on the "health care freedom" platform? If not, then why not?
