I went through a number of years when I was searching to find out who I am, where I’m going and – the ever-present question – why am I alive anyway? My search had me wandering aimlessly all over the place, and the more I wandered, the more confused I became. But, there came a day, a day when my questions were all answered and my life-long search ended in glorious triumph and a great victory.
That was the day when I realized that in my search, I’d been accompanied and observed by a hidden, silent, traveling companion. He made His presence known to me the very instant I opened my mouth and sobbed: “Oh God, please help me!” Since then – thank God – my life has never been the same.
Some of what God said to me that day was: “ Hear, Oh my son, and receive sayings, and the years of our life shall be many, I have taught you in the way of skillful and godly Wisdom, which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God, I have led you in the paths of righteousness. When you walk, your steps shall not be hampered –your path will be clear and open and when you run you shall not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life. (Prov. 4:10-13).
As you can see from the above – which was written for all of us – prosperity is “at hand” (meaning it is in our hands to grasp, to hold onto, now)! Therefore, we can faithfully believe and trust in our God-given potential for long-term success!
Knowing this is like a revelation, a revelation that is better than having millions of dollars in the bank! As you may know, it has been said: “A revelation is not a revelation until it is a revelation – to me.”
The result of all of this is that I now have a clear understanding that my heavenly Father loves me and wants to nurture and cause me to grow all the days of my life. My God can see into the future, therefore, I believe, and have faith that He has prepared many wonderful things for me – things He knows I’ll enjoy.
I trust my life and all of its events, good and bad alike to Him in complete confidence. I know what He sees in my future is good, very good indeed!
Our Lord, God, wants to take away our searching and our doubts. Therefore, as Christians, we can confidently say to all who may ask us now and for all eternity, that, without a doubt - we know who we are!
