Scott, Your are definitely your own man!!! I like true opinions, not matters, where I agree or not. Regards

Sullivan reply:

Thanks. My bottom line is that I am a Communist and a Republican. Mao liked and trusted Republicans far more than Democrats. Mao used to tell Nixon that he distrusted Western leftists because they were reluctant to use force in international affairs. Democrats were also obsessed with human rights issues and saw Pinochet as a liability. Mao and Nixon, on the other hand, viewed Pinochet as an important asset. Also, Western leftists, unlike Western rightists, ignored the Soviet threat.

Today the threat is from Iran (Hitler) and Venezuela (Mussolini), supported by Germany. The bad news is that Bush and Clinton are clueless about the Iran-German threat.

The absolutely sublime good news is that the Clinton-Bush policy in favor of Kosovo independence will not survive to the end of next week. The Kosovars say they will declare independence "within days" of Sunday's presidential elections in Serbia. Both Serbian candidates oppose independence for Kosovo. Moreover -- and this is where things begin to get interesting-- Russia and China oppose independence for Kosovo and will resist US pressure to change their policy. Moreover, Russia and China will support Serbian pressure on Kosovo. For example, Serbia could partition Kosovo, a step that would destroy Kosovo's viability as an independent state, and humiliate both Clinton and Bush.

Clinton and Bush have supported Kosovo independence from the 1990's because such a policy was cost free. Now Cliinton and Bush will be forced to pay a high price if they want to continue to support Kosovo -- US "boots on the ground" in Kosovo.

Of course, Clinton and Bush have zero interest in sending US forces to Kosovo. Putin knows this and is pressing the Kosovo issue The credibility of Clinton and Bush will take a major hit next week due to the Kosovo issue.

In short, the Kosovo controversy could have a major impact on the US elections for President. Hillary Clinton will be weakened as she defends Bill Clinton's love affair with the Albanians. As for McCain, who knows what he would do? If the Serbs and Russians were smart they would ask for his support in their war against Radical Islamic Extremism -- McCain's term for al-Qaeda and Iran.
