You would think that with all western civilization has accomplished that we would be a bit more vocal in defending it. We've given the world advanced technology, the scientific method, democracy, the rule of law, capitalism, and more. It seems, though, that the west is bound and determined to roll over and die to a bunch of dark age barbarians.
Take Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the head of the Anglican church, and someone who eagerly wants to join the ranks of dhimminitude. Apparently the bishop believes that Sharia law is an inevitability and that the UK should just enact it now to save everyone the time and the conflict. You got to hand it to those Anglicans, they really know how to stand up for Christianity. Though let's be honest, they stopped being Christians a long time ago(which is funny, because Huckabee never spent his time spewing his venom at them. I guess the fact that McCain is an Anglican is just coincidence.)
With leaders like that one wonders whether England doesn't need another glorious revolution? However, we are just reaping what we have sown. For so long we have heard that western civilization is the source of all evil(dead white men and all that) that it's naturally imperialist, racist, xenophobic, and genocidal. While overlooking the imperialism, racism, xenophobia, and genocide of non western cultures. It's no wonder that 25% of English youth think that Winston Churchill is a fictitous charachter, and that Sherlock Holmes was a real person. When we denigrate our own culture how can we expect the young people to know anything about it?
If Europe would stand up for itself and tell their self appointed leaeders where to get off Sharia law and Muslim dominance wouldn't look like the safe bet. Instead the elites are bound and determined to bring in Muslim immigrants and bend over backwards for them, just as ours want to flood the country with Mexicans and bend over backwards for them.
Our soldiers risk their lives every day in Afghanistan and Iraq where they fight Islamic Fascism. But if western civilization is bound and determined to be taken over from within then killing fascists and spreading democracy in the Middle East probably won't do us any good. Not if men like Rowan williams, and the hordes of political elites and empty headed left wing Christians, have their way.
Muslims use western civilization to destroy it. They use freedom of speech to preach hatred and violence, they use freedom of religion to turn entire regions of countries into sharia enclaves, they use tolerance they recieve, and return intolerance. They are offered an inch and they take a mile. They take kindness and give back contempt, and we have westerners all too willing to lie down at their feet.
It's time for western civilization to stand up for itself. If men like Rowan Williams don't like the western world they can go live in Saudi Arabia, they should just stop trying to bring Arabia to the rest of us.
