A Case for McCain
February 10, 2008 01:00 PM EST

Romney dropped out of the race this week and during his announcement at CPAC he gave one of the best conservative speeches in at least the last 15 years. It was amazing. While I was watching this I was thinking, where was this speech before Super Tuesday? Why did they leave it until the end? That was the biggest error of the Romney campaign. Instead of talking about Washington being broken, perhaps he should have given variations on this speech at his rallies, that would have brought more votes and we may actually see Romney ahead.

McCain's speech was not bad either. It was predicted that he was going to try to reach out to conservatives, many of whom hate McCain’s stances on so many issues. Many just hate McCain because they feel he is too liberal. After some thought and reflection after Tuesday night I have come up with a few issues that might interest you regarding McCain. Think of this. Hillary and Obama are 100 times more left wing than McCain could ever be. These issues range in topic, from social to economic, let’s look at them:

Do you support the judges who are pro-abortion and even pro-late term abortion? If you do, then do not vote for McCain.

Do you support restrictions on hand guns? (Gun Control) If you do, then do not vote for McCain.

Do you want your taxes increased every year regardless of your income level? If you do, then do not vote for McCain.

Do you want socialist health care in our country destroying our hospitals and ruining the entire medical field as we know it? If you do, then do not vote for McCain.

Do you want us to leave Iraq without finishing off the terrorists and give them victory so that they can march all the way to our soil and kill us all? If you do then you are crazy and please move away, but do not vote for McCain before you do.

Do you want uncontrolled spending in Washington? Do you want bills that are ear-marked so badly that economy may not be able to recover for decades? If you do then do not vote for McCain.

These are just a few issues that concern conservatives. On each one of these McCain has been quite conservative. I realize he didn’t vote for Bush’s tax cut plan, but he certainly supports cutting taxes, maybe not in the way we wanted at the time. He will not appoint liberal judges to the bench, that’s guaranteed. He will not socialize our health care system. And I think you know he will fight all terrorists and protect us much better than any Democrat would. McCain also wants to rid congress of their over spending aka earmarks. He is a champion for this issue.

It seems to me that working with McCain on these will be easy. We can also work with him on immigration and the first amendment. He is can change his view on immigration to come up with a sound –no amnesty- bill that will work for everyone. We can work with him by getting the tax cuts permanent and find ways to keep jobs in this country. Closing the border is the only way, and I’m sure if he is elected he will get an earful from us on these issues. Yes we have given him a lot to think about over the past month. We have attacked him on several issues. I still believe we need to continue to give this message. McCain does not have blinders on and earplugs in when it comes to our opinions. He can hear and he can read. Hillary and Obama, I’m not so certain.

So is McCain all that bad? Certainly not. Are the 2 Democrats running bad? Guaranteed.

So I ask you to re-read those questions above one more time and think to yourself, who would be better as our President, our candidate John McCain or Hillary/Obama? I think the answer is quite clear.
