When this race started, in oh what seems like a hundred years ago, my thought were as followed: Anyone but Hillary. For the safety of the republic that woman had to be kept out of office. I still think that, I just didn't realize that she had an ideological twin in Senator Obama. I've seen a few Presidential races in my short life, and each time the Democrats select a nominee they've always picked the most left wing candidate they could get their hands on. Forcing conservatives to say "this is the most liberal democrat ever nominated." Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, and now, presumably, Obama.
Notice a pattern? Leftists all,(Clinton was forced to govern from the center only after a Republican Congress took over in 1995, prior to that he governed from the left) who see the role of government as big brother. They mask their contempt for the American people with a smile and talk of compassion. The underlying premise of the Democratic party is that the American people are so stupid that they must have the guiding hand of government in their lives or they will fail. That's the nice version of their philosophy. The Democrats have long had a strain of utopian thought, and how can they let things like regular people and their opinions get in the way of their revolution.
The more I hear from Obama the more I'm convinced that there is more to him than his hopeful rhetoric. A lot more. Any patriot should be horrified when they hear what Obama actually wants to do. It's your typical left wing revolutionary stuff. Statism through and through.
Of course Obama will only raise taxes on "the rich" (that's democratic code for anyone who lives above the poverty line), will order our troops out of Iraq on his first day in office( and he really means it), and government regulations and government spending on everything he can think of. It's the great society all over again.
The left has never been respectful of the individual in society. Everything has to be decided for them. Obama is no different in that regard( the left has always had a love affair with governments that control people. They love Hugo Chavez, they couldn't stop gushing of Fidel Castro. Read Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism for the history of the progressives and their affair with Fascism) the government has to do everything from providing a living wage to making sure we have a house to live in, to universal health care, and a free education. All of which come with a price, not just in higher taxes, but in fewer rights for the individual to make their own decisions.
Ask yourself the following questions: Do you want Obama appointing the next two or three supreme court justices? Do you want Obama, with a Democratic Congress, signing any bill he wants into law? Most importantly do you want someone so left wing as the next commander in chief? Clinton was terrible as commander in chief, and compared to Obama he was positively moderate. Do you want President Obama to decide what to do with a nuclear Iran? For all his talk about hope his plans are pessimistic.
America can't afford a President that far to the left.
