Because They Hate
March 03, 2008 02:00 PM EST

Brigitte Gabriel, a Christian who practiced Arabic culture, lived the first 19 years of her life in southern Lebanon. Until 1975 Lebanese Christians lived in peace with Muslims. But, before she would reach adulthood, she would see first hand the transformation of her country from a land of peace to a land of war brought about by a Civil War between Christians and Muslims. A War not started by Christians, but by Islamic fundamentalist who were committed to a worldwide jihad against non-Muslims. At age ten her world was forever changed. Her personal experiences during this time form the basis for this book. The insights gained in Lebanon, regarding tactics used by Muslims to take over her birth country, have enabled her to clearly see what is happening today, in her adopted country, the USA. She articulates her fears and offers solutions. One example is:

Fear:

Multiculturalism and diversity were tools used by Lebanon’s enemies to destroy the very fabric of her culture that she took pride in. Her hospitality, good-heartedness and generosity were used against her to infiltrate her society and gain control of her government. Love and respect for all people were replaced by fear, mistrust and hatred! This same sequence of events is occurring in the US today.

Solutions:

1. Our borders must be secured and we must control who enters our country. If immigrants enter our country with no intent to become part of our culture, they must not be allowed to change our ways and force us to adopt their customs. They must follow our laws and not insist that they be allowed to live in violation of our laws even in the name of religious freedom.

2. We must use every effort possible to identify terrorists who advocate the overthrow of our government. This means reporting suspicious behavior and profiling, profiling, profiling! How can terrorists be identified if we are not told what they look like? The terrorists that we know about are bearded dark-skinned men between the ages of 25-40. If a person has done nothing wrong he will not mind being asked a few questions, required to produce an I.D., and/or searched at airports, border crossings, train stations, etc. Once identified as terrorists they must be forced to leave.

3. We must refuse to allow anyone to immigrate from hostile nations, including students who wish to study at our universities.

The reader cannot read this book and not have his/her emotions piqued. The author is able to convey the reality of life-changing events in her life in such a way that the reader feels her joy, her devastation, her discoveries, and her hatred. The act of exhuming her mother’s body from a grave in Lebanon and secretly transporting it to Jerusalem to be buried beside her father was more then symbolic act of uniting her father and mother for eternity. It was a strong statement regarding her loyalties! Let her tell it in here own words, "I believe actions speak louder than words. I wanted to ensure that my children would always be drawn to Israel and not the Arabic world, and that they would always know where my loyalty lay."

This book is highly recommended to all who wish to have their children and grandchildren live in a country where they will have the "right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" forever!
