Conservatives Need to Stop Sulking
March 13, 2008 01:00 PM EST

Conservatives need to be honest, no matter who the Democratic nominee is it's going to be a close race. McCain will have to fight it out over the next eight months with the Democratic candidate to go onto the White House. Right now, enthusiasm and money favor the Democrats. More people consider themselves Democrats than they do to be Republican.

Republicans are demoralized, and maybe they have a right to be. Republican leaders, in Washington, haven't exactly been an inspiration. Instead of the Republican revolution we go politics as usual. Voters put up with this for twelve years, but the abandonment of conservative principles got the party kicked out of its majority status in Congress and might even lead to the Democrats controlling the legislative, executive, and selecting the next two or three nominees to the Supreme Court. If that's not enough to strike fear in the hear of any patriot I don't know what is.

Oops, did I just insinuate that Democrats aren't patriots? Insinuate nothing, it should be said loud and clear: The Democrats don't care about this country, and usually do everything in their power to give aid and comfort to our enemies. They sucked up to and defended communists throughout the cold war, even today they swoon over left wing dictators like Castro and Chavez. They discount the Islamist threat to America(just like Democrats discounted the threat America faced from the USSR) leftists wish for a "million Mogadishus's" against our troops, they slander them in the media, and they want the people killing our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan to win, and to help them achieve that goal they are willing to surrender to the thugs and terrorists as soon as they take over.

Who do conservatives have to blame for all of this? As usual, we only have ourselves to blame. Liberals can only win when conservatives aren't fighting back. Instead of fighting for the core causes that led conservatism to power we backed off, instead of conservatives standing up for what they believe in we've taken a pouter, gone home and sulked. We think that if we stay home and not vote that will show 'em. Yeah, it shows the Democrats all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Instead of fighting we give reliably Republican districts to the Democrats. Former Speaker Hastert's district is now represented by a Democrat, which does not bode well for the Republicans in November. If conservatives are bound and determined to give even more seats to the Democrats then the only hope the GOP has this fall, is that Senator McCain can bring enough independents to his side to at least keep the White House on our side.

Because with the way conservatives are going it's going to be a long time before we see power in Congress again.
