House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) issued the following statement last week after Congressman Tom Reynolds (N.Y.) announced that he would not run for another term:
“Tom has been a valuable member of the Republican caucus and leadership team during his decade of service to our country and New York. I know that I speak for many when saying that his counsel and friendship will be missed next year, but I wish him and Donna all the best in whatever their next chapter might hold.
“Tom held one of the toughest jobs in Washington as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee for two demanding election cycles. As a legislator, he has been a strong advocate for pro-growth economic policies, a staunch defender of working families and one of the most ardent campaigners for targeted tax relief through his seat on the House Ways and Means Committee.
“A unique set of challenges face our nation in the upcoming year and our party is ready to tackle them head on to find the right solutions for America.”
