The United Methodist Church has been infiltrated by the devil’s crew. It’s like unto the demonic intrusion upon the Episcopal Church. Likewise, the United Church of Christ (Congregational).
There are other Protestant denominations wrestling with the demons who are intent on taking over Christ’s sanctuary. The issue is homosexuality and the other sexual abnormalities.
John Wesley spent his life preaching “holiness of heart and life.” Now the denomination that came out of his ministry has turned on its head. Why has it lost its origins? Because it has displaced the Bible with evil liberals. They carry the spirit of antiChrist as prophesied in the New Testament.
Not all is lost, however. In every denomination plagued by the apostates are biblical believers fighting courageously for God. They are torn and worn. Some have left their tags for freer grounds. Others have remained in the war to keep the Bible alive.
Whatever the take, the righteous remnant is alive and well. It is found in those denominations where salvation through Christ is clearly preached. Those denominations don’t have the demonic intrusions of sexual abnormalities.
Why?
Because when people are called to be saved through Christ’s indwelling forgiving presence, demons take hike. They don’t like that plain gospel message.
In those churches the preachers call worshipers to personal repentance, confession of sins and petitions to the Holy Spirit for His gift of redemption. When that kind of preaching is carried forth Sunday after Sunday, lives are changed. Souls are cleansed.
In that kind of sanctuary, God honors the environs by staving off the demons now plaguing elsewhere. God delights in the pulpit used for His purpose—the declaration of Calvary’s sinless sacrifice offering saving grace.
However, where liturgy and ritual take up most of worship as well as an unclear message of the biblical gospel is maintained, demons move in with a rush. They delight in the blur. They love the replacement of clear biblical preaching with well-maybe-this-or-that.
The Bible warns that the trumpet sound must be clear. In other words, there cannot be the muffling of what the Word of God states. God has provided His clear communication in the Word—the written Word in Scripture, the incarnate Word in Christ and the indwelling Word in the sanctified believer.
What more can God do than this? He’s given us the communication networks by which to find Him if we sincerely desire to find Him.
Methodists will meet in Texas April 23 for another conclave. There will be arguing, tension, madness and gladness. There will be friendships tattered. There will be power plays. There will be rejoicing and berating, no matter the overgloss of manners that the leaders will try to put on the gathering.
But will founder John Wesley’s Word of God be declared as the only document of authority in Christian faith?
If that is not decided powerfully, then there is a lot of mayhem left to Methodism’s future.
