Leave or stay?
My recommendation--hopefully under prayer--is to leave if the power structure is so adamant on creating within the congregation an anti-Bible environs.
Many biblical believers hope that there will be a change from liberal, apostate base to a genuine scriptural base. Sometimes that miracles occurs. More times than not the devil gets his way due to the demonic power structure from pulpit to church committees. In many cases, this devilment is sanctioned by the ecclesiastical powers above the locals.
Why spend one's soul energy fighting that which is already gone to the satanic powers? One has only one life to live. Let it then be given to the congregation that is already sold out to biblical preaching and teaching--and living!
There are congregations that are spiritually sound. They are alive in the Holy Spirit because the clergy is given over to the Bible. The committees likewise. The pews then are basically filled with those of simliar conviction.
Where the Bible is preached as is--without subtraction or addition--the Holy Spirit blesses. The numbers need not be many. It is not the numbers that count. It is whether God's Word is honored as the supreme authority of doctrine.
Then I would strongly suggest to those caught up in today's church fights over the Bible that the biblical believers leave the church building that has been precious over the years. Go to the nearby biblical honoring group of disciples and give your labor there.
I know it is sad. There are so many memories attached to the place where one was married, baptized, and had countless events that were enriching. But those memories can be secured in the love of God's heart as the biblical worshipers move elsewhere.
Move in order to give what you have in this life to the work of the Holy Spirit where He is truly regarded as the Source of all truth.
