"We will burn you alive like Graham Staines and his children!" they shouted at the women.
Two Christian women from Asia Bible College were in danger of losing their lives to anti-Christian extremist Muslims in Orissa, India.
Chunile Wyn and Preeja Sushan, student missionaries serving their internships, were chased for their lives. They escaped by getting to a phone booth, calling for help, and seeing the angry crowd dissipate. However, others have not been so fortunate. They have lost their lives to anti-Christians.
They had led a worship service. Extremists stormed the building, screaming at the 15 believers. Radicals threatened with sticks and stones.
The two women were not able to get out of the building when the threatening increased.
'Graham Staines, an Australian missionary in Orissa, was burned to death in 1999. Religious extremists set fire to the vehicle Staines and his two young sons were sleeping in, killing them all' per Gospel for Asia.
Chunile and Preeja phoned a pastor who arrived on the scene to rescue them. Still ringing in the air were the attackers' screams that if the women ever returned to the village they would be slain.
The local pastor is left with encouraging his own believers to remain strong midst opposition to biblical preaching.
Those attacked informed press that they would intercede to God for their attackers.
