The Army chief of staff announced the following Army Reserve officers assignments:

Brig. Gen. Roosevelt Barfield, Army National Guard, action officer, Homeland Defense Directorate, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and America's Security Affairs, Washington, D.C., to deputy commander, Joint Task Force, Horn of Africa.

Brig. Gen. Walter B. Chahanovich, U.S. Army Reserve, deputy commanding general for mobilization and training, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to commanding general (troop program unit), 78th Operations Group, Fort Dix, N.J.

Brig. Gen. Charles D. Luckey, U.S. Army Reserve, to chief, Office of Security Cooperation, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq. He most recently served as commanding general (troop program unit), 78th Operations Group, Fort Dix, N.J.

Col. James T. Walton, U.S. Army Reserve, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, deputy commanding general, 63rd Regional Readiness Command, Moffett Field, Calif., to commanding general, 335th Theater Signal Command (provisional), Kuwait.
