Like Col. North, I too served my country with honor and dignity, because this is what was instilled in me, by BOTH of my parents. No, I wasn't forced to serve, but they were damn sure proud of me cause I did. I remember the first time I re-enlisted, my father was so proud of me, and when he passed away, I promised him I'd serve my country with honor. Now you ask, what does this have to do with petro - gas - diesel or whatever you call it. Well let me tell ya,it makes one proud to have what they have. No leaning on someone else because they have more than you, and no looking for hand outs. On old Gunnery Sergeant once told me, if you can't afford it, then you don't need it. Don't live above your means. If you have to have it that bad, or if you are so far in hole, then get a part time job to pay your bills, and get what you want. Gas is high right now, and we all know that, so stop complaining. Before you gorunning your gib about why it is high, know the facts. No, it's not because President Bush invaded Iraq. That isjust what the Liberals want you to believe. No, it's not because we are threating to attack Iran, that is just what the Liberals want you to believe. No, it's not because the CEO of Mobil/Exxon wants a big bonus, that's just what the Liberals want you to believe. No, we are not starving the world because of Ethanol, that is just what the Liberals want you to believe. So whay then are we paying so much for gas? Let meenlighten you. The number one reason is because the Liberals/Democrats, are more worried about the deer and antelope and polar bears, then they are about mankind. Global warming is a sham, yet the Liberals want us to believe that if we continue to use oil, drill for oil, or burn any kind of fossil fuel, then we will melt the ice caps and flood the coastal areas. Or we might experience more hurricanes and cyclones like what is happening now. Come on people, this is God's green earth. We can not stop what mother nature throws at us. It's called a weathercycle. For years it went on with no one saying anything, until, the Liberals figured out a way to make money off of it and scare mankind. That's why we all have to buy those stupid looking light bulbs! Technology is more advanced now than it was in the 70's, so we are able to drill for oil a lot morefeasible, and safely than we were before. There is a ton of oil in the ANWAR, and in the shale in Colorado. Once we can tap into that, then we can become "energy independent". No, it's not going to lower the prices right now, nor tomorrow, or in a week from now. But in the future, we won't have to deal with high gas prices. Why didn't we do this in the 70's? Oh yea, cause Carter was the President.
