Like many other Republicans I am watching the democratic race very closely. Even though it appears that Barack Hussein Obama will win the nomination, it still warrants looking into. Obama is not capturing the white working class democratic voter, something that Al Gore and John Kerry both obtained and of course, former president Clinton obtained. Without this vote, Obama will be close but not close enough to John McCain. In fact, most pundits agree that many of these votes will be cast for McCain because Hillary is not running.
Another concept is: Hillary staying in the race could hurt Obama's reputation in the upcoming weeks. This, I highly doubt, unfortunately. Obama has already hurt himself enough and I'm not just talking about how stupid he is thinking that there are 57 states in the country, but in general, every time he talks, he isn't tired as many main stream media outlets will have you believe, he is just plain ignorant to the issues facing this nation. We've heard enough about 'Change' and 'Hope'. Again I ask, Change and Hope for what? He never explains himself. Hillary on the other hand is talking a big game, but it's almost a lost cause. It would take a miracle for her to win and her quoting the bible in her speech Tuesday night does not mean a miracle will descend on her campaign any time soon.
McCain is getting worse. I am not sure where he is getting his advice from, but saying that global warming (aka climate change) is more important than the economy is one of the most idiotic things I think I've heard a politician say (Barack's 57 states excluded). We are definitely seeing a pattern here. In order to run for President these days it seems you must either be inexperienced, experienced, a 'minority', or completely clueless. You decide which candidate falls into which category, or 2 or 3 categories.
As we approach the fall and the democrats have chosen their candidate, I certainly hope we see a much tougher John McCain. He is sure tough on people like me who criticize him. Why can't he be tough on the people who want to see him lose? Sometimes I think Bob Barr deserves a look. (Heaven forbid) And look out Ron Paul could be his running mate!
