Political Correctness is too Much to Bear
August 04, 2005 04:43 PM EST

The one thing that I simply do not get today is all of the political correctness going on. It seems to be spreading like a disease and I can certainly see no cure in sight. Jus who is responsible for all of the crazy talk anyway?

Some blame liberals and some blame conservatives. Maybe it could be both sides. I don't know who started it or for what reason of for what purpose it serves other than to confuse and alienate people from the real truth.

Political correctness seems to be the topic of the day in politics, private conversations, and even church talk. As I referred earlier to the political correctness being from both sides of the political spectrum, we do have some pretty daunting issues concerning Christian faith in America at Christmas time.

I want to point out a few things I see wrong about the way the ACLU tries to derail Christmas like they're Ebenezer Scrooge or the Grinch even. The first politically correct term we hear is "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" in the place of Merry Christmas. The ACLU has for years wanted these words banned and replaced with a more suitable title to please others not of the Christian faith. At least that's what they claim. I don't buy it. The founder of the ACLU was openly communist and that can't be good.

The other thing is that we do not give people Christmas cards anymore. We give "Holiday Cards". Oh yeah! What holiday? There are many holidays. Do we say "Happy Holiday" on the Fourth of July? Halloween? Thanksgiving? Hanukah? Presidents Day? No we do not and why should we do the same for Christmas. I'll bet you have never seen the ACLU try to come up with a different name for Ramadan have you? I heard David Letterman ask "Have you finished sending all of your HOLIDAY CARDS yet? Then the next night he corrected himself calling them Christmas cards. Perhaps he saw opposition. I don't know, that's only speculation on my part.

The attacks go further though. The ACLU sues schools for students conducting plays labeled as Christmas plays and not "Holiday Plays" and attack when schools have Christmas Parties and not "winter parties" as the new politically correct term goes these days.

As for me, all of the silly political correctness at anytime and not just at CHRISTMAS is almost too much to bear. Much of it is so silly and outrageous that it could only come from the mind of someone who has nothing better to do. As for me, I'll keep saying MERRY CHRISTMAS and as for the ACLU's anti-Christ rhetoric - America is still ONE NATION UNDER GOD!
