I don't see how President Bush can stand by and watch our ally Israel be forced to comply with withdraws from settlements, land to which rightfully belong to them.
If we are truly Israel's ally, why are we rewarding a group of people with more land, who are trying to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth? President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian people, head of the Palestinian Authority, has not cracked down on Hamas and Islamic Jihad... the terrorist organizations working among the Palestinian people, who have vowed not to stop attacks on Israel. These terror groups do not speak for all Palestinians, as Palestinians who want peace and to work alongside Israel should have the right to it, but the PA is not doing enough to eliminate terror. So the decision Sharon made to try to work with the Palestinians and to give them land is not going to eliminate Israel's problems.
America is not standing by Israel as we should. It breaks my heart when I see Israeli soldiers busting into synagogues to remove their brethren while they worship! It's madness! Certainly we would not want to see that happen here, imagine you are in church worshipping God and all of a sudden....troops storm in and drag you out. We need to be concerned about Israel! American Christians, stand by our Israeli brothers and sisters. I do not think that it is fair what has been done to them.
In President Bush's drive to establish a Palestinian state and his wish for both Palestinians and Israelis to live side by side in harmony, Bush has forgotten that Israel has been our ally, and is a vital democracy in the Middle East. We should have their back as much as possible. We can help the Palestinians to grow as well, but first, changes need to occur in the Palestinian government. You can't work with terrorists. All they want is blood.
Surely President Bush knows about this. He recently spoke on the Gaza withdrawal mentioning that the Palestinian people now needed to reform their government and security forces. But telling them after the withdrawal is futile. Getting rid of Hamas and terror groups should have been the clarion call before Israel moved out of Gaza! But now, Hamas is very popular now among the people. This terror group provides needed services among the Palestinians, but their brand of thinking is totally warped against Israel or course! And with other terrorist organizations like Hizbullah sending funds to Palestinian militants to aid in the fight against Israel, the odds are stacked against Israel. I am waiting to see is a sincere sign from the Palestinian people who want peace... stop supporting Hamas. Show the world you want peace!
Israel continues to make gestures of peace, by releasing Palestinian prisoners, some who have brought attacks on Israel...and Israel continues to face continuous threats from terror groups. This makes no sense. Israel has done too much already! There is NO cooperation from Palestinians. The spotlight needs to be put on them to shun terror groups.
The UN, as usual, sits back and does nothing in regard for Israel. In fact, they are funding terror propaganda against Israel. The UN is slanted in favor of the Palestinians. And the rampant Anti-Semitism Israel faces from the Palestinian Authority, lead by President Mahmoud Abbas has not helped.
If the pullouts continue, and Israel gives up more land, Israel is setting herself up for a huge battle. Israel's former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who resigned as Israel's finance minister after the decision was made to pull out of Gaza, is completely against the withdrawal. He was a strong leader, a leader who now sees the repercussions ahead in regards to Israel pulling out of Gaza. I wish he was still the leader of Israel. He represents the type of leader Israel needs right now. A leader who recognizes Israel's right to exist as a nation and to acquire the land promised to them by God. No offense to current Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, but he needs to remember his Jewish roots.
Christian America Involvement
The majority of people in the United States declare themselves to be Christians. Well if we say we are Christians, then we know the historical background on the land that God promised Israel. And what God mentioned about the other nations of the earth and their relationship with Israel:
"I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse..."--Genesis 12:3
I think that is pretty blunt. Either you support Israel and her right to exist as a nation or you suffer the consequences! I do not think that the US ought to anger God. We are not to advocate that Israelis pull out of land that is theirs.
Anyone can see that the way the Palestinians are going about trying to retrieve land from Israel is akin to a spoiled brat on the playground, bullying and attacking to get his way. So now, President Bush has rewarded the bully (Palestinian terrorists), with a chunk of land...and now money to help Palestinians rebuild?! I can assure you, the bully is not satisfied. The bully will continue to push until he has ALL the land and Israel is left with nothing or driven into the sea. So you see, it's a wrong move to push Israel to cooperate with terrorists. They have had to survive through suicide bombings and attacks, it will not stop because of the pullouts.
This is a subject near and dear to my heart, I want Christians to keep Israel in their prayers. You have to know God is watching all of this. And He's saying "Are you going to support my people America?" Not halfway, but ALL the way! Israel is in trouble. It is our responsibility to back them. Again, I say that the US is supposed to be an ally to Israel, we have a President in office who has professed his Christian faith a number of times, so he knows it's important to back Israel. I wonder why his actions aren't supporting that. Shall I write him again and tell him to get a grip? Be careful who we support? I would hate to hear that we are supporting terror against Israel.
No doubt this move to withdraw from Gaza is causing division among Israelis. I wonder how the soldiers feel when they have to drag their own people out of their houses and places of worship, people who cry aloud to Almighty God to help them while their own people force them from the land they love?
It's a dangerous move to be a part of turmoil happening in Israel, causing such a division. Why would the US support this? Why would we want to cause more distress among our brethren in Israel? The Israeli people are split now on the Gaza evacuation. God is trying to gather Israel from the four corners of the globe and make Israel a great nation, and the US is instrumental in trying to break Israel apart. We'd better watch it.
America needs to be on the right side in this War on Terror. We can't placate anyone who wants to destroy Israel and the West. President Bush should see similarities between America and the West's fight against terror, and Israel's fight to survive, the only democracy in he Middle East. Israel is worth backing! The other "regimes" need reform. So...Christian America...now is not the time to forget about Israel. Do everything you can to back Israel right now. Read up on what God promised Israel, and let's stand behind her!
