The Minutemen Are Correct To Patrol Both of Our National Borders
October 08, 2005 04:25 PM EST

The effort to stop illegal aliens from crossing into our country is of paramount importance for our nation. Throughout history those countries which lost control over their borders declined in power or ceased to be.

Today's Minutemen are the same type of patriots that this country saw during our revolutionary war, only today's Minutemen, as opposed to their
predecessors, are armed not with firearms but binoculars; and they are not citizen infantry but citizen observers, observers who report to the authorities when they detect illegal aliens crossing our borders.

The conservative movement in America has always opposed racism despite the efforts of the media to portray our law and order philosophy, together with our moral values and patriotic orientation as being synonymous with racist beliefs. No conservative group that I am aware of opposes lawful immigration by Mexicans, but we do oppose illegal immigration because it is against our laws, and illegal aliens represent a significant drain on our economy; have a propensity to break other laws once here; and are reintroducing into America diseases once under control and or largely irradiated.

The Minutemen have no doubt focused on our borders with Mexico, in the past, as the Mexican Government has openly defied America's immigration laws. However, the Minutemen are correct to begin patrolling our border with Canada, not for the sake of political correctness, but because the issue has never been about race or language but solely about enforcing our immigration laws. Whites who illegally enter our country from the North are breaking our laws just as those Hispanics are who are coming in from the South.

It is time for Americans to sign up to protect our country and the Minutemen deserve our support and our participation.
