Ronnie Earle's efforts to keep a MoveOn.org contributor on as the presiding judge over Congressman Tom Delay case has failed, leaving the dumbest partisan prosecutor on Earth with egg on his face, once again.
Judge C. W. Duncan agreed with Tom Delay's attorney's today that sufficient cause existed to remove District Judge Bob Perkins as trial judge in the Delay case. Travis County Texas District Attorney Ronnie Earle, who is best known for the cases he lost rather than the cases he has won, now may be stuck with a less partisan judge to hear his trumped-up case against Tom Delay. This is the case where Ronnie Earle used 6 Grand juries before he could get an indictment, only to learn that the indictment he secured was on a law that was not in existence at the time of the alleged wrongful conduct by Delay. Realizing that he was about to be made a laughing stock, again, Earle ran to a 7th Grand Jury which denied his request for a new indictment. He then went to yet another grand jury that gave him what he wanted, political cover.
Jason Earle, Ronnie Earle's son, is now running for a Texas House seat. It is my assumption that if he planned on riding on daddy's coat tails stemming from the Delay case, he learned today that the coat tails are very short, could break off at any time and leave him face down in the mud. Of course being an Earle, being face down it the mud might be hog heaven for him.
