Reality shows are taking over the airwaves. They're cheap to make -- no huge salaries for actors, writers, producers and distributors. They can be made in countries that don't have big unions dictating the salaries of technical people. And some -- a very few -- are actually entertaining. 05/14/2008 19:11:19
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On May 15, 1963, the late Rowland Evans and I published our first column. That makes today (Thursday) the 45th anniversary (the first 30 years under the Evans & Novak byline) of the nation's longest-running current syndicated political column. It achieved that distinction Feb. 27 with the death of William F. Buckley Jr., whose column started 13 months before ours. 05/14/2008 17:00:00

It may not be just Walter Reed, it may not be just the Army, but to say that squalor and substandard medical care are systemic in the military, particularly because of the strain placed on the system by the Iraq war is just wrong. 05/14/2008 10:00:00
Is it any coincidence that in this year of 2008 we face perhaps the most important presidential elections in our history, and in the same year, a doubling of gas prices has occurred? It would be a stretch of the imagination to believe that these two issues are not connected. Remember George Soros? 05/14/2008 10:00:00

As always, Americans have a choice and they will have themselves to blame if they give the crazed Kenyan instead of the Boyds cause to rejoice. 05/14/2008 10:00:00
How I spend the money that President Bush gave me, should be of no elses concern. If I want to use it to pay bills, which is probably the responsible thing to do, then I will. 05/14/2008 10:00:00

Let's face it. Supply and demand will never replace "need" and "greed" in political discussions of economic issues. 05/13/2008 11:02:18
Some people think that the reason the public misunderstands so many issues is that these issues are too "complex" for most voters. But is that really so? 05/13/2008 11:00:00
"Who could be surprised that four years later Davidson became a leader of the Gang of 88? Whether it happened or not, she and her cohorts knew that rape had been possible, and therefore the lacrosse players, or some of them, had to be offered up as a sacrifice in the name of political correctness. Ultimately, Davidson will be remembered for only one thing, her coining the term blog hooligan which the founders of Liestoppers hilariously embraced. People who have an instinct for the truth seem also able to turn an elitist slur into a source of ironic humor." 05/13/2008 10:00:00
Ocho Rios and Runaway Bay entice with their breathtaking God-painted splendor. So it was that the Dunns River Falls captured our praises. (And to think that we were not far from where Columbus first landed more than 500 years ago.) 05/13/2008 10:00:00

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- John McCain, who has spent the last two months trying to consolidate right-wing support as the Republican candidate for president, has a problem of disputed dimensions with a vital component of the conservative coalition: the evangelicals. The biggest question is whether Mike Huckabee is part of the problem or the solution for McCain. 05/12/2008 10:00:00
by David Losey - It is not the role of government to intervene in the free market system for the benefit of a select group. Those elected officials who vote for such intervention should be voted out of office.
