It doesn't bother me that Al Gore has a $1,359 monthly electricity bill. Sure you would think that the man who seeks praise everywhere he goes over his fight against global warming and for his "documentary" on that topic, " An Inconvenient Truth", would live as he would have others live. However, Al Gore is rich and the rich exclude themselves from the rules they would impose on others.( Read Article )

When it comes to Senator John Glenn his leftwing politics do not matter to me. He is a true American hero and knows more about the American space program than just about anyone else in America. However, just because he is an American hero and extraordinarily bright does not mean he is correct about the International Space Station. Recently, he was quoted by the Associated Press as being critical of President Bush's plan to send astronauts to the moon and then Mars, because he said that plan is diverting money from the International Space Station. If Senator Glenn were in-charge of the Westward growth of our country at its inception I am afraid he would have brought us to West Virginia and no further.( Read Article )

In America today men who are attracted to the opposite sex are often ridiculed and mocked on the basis of their sexual orientation. I am a so called straight man, a heterosexual, and though I don't have straight pride parades or straight days at Disneyworld to honor the fact that I am attracted to the opposite sex, nevertheless I am proud to say that I have come out of the garage and now proclaim my sexuality to the world. Yes I'm straight and I am here to stay.( Read Article )

John Edwards wants to give nuclear fuel to Iran for their peaceful use while engaging them in state to state dialog, which he says President Bush is unwilling to do. I suppose if John Edwards were President during WW-ll he would have wanted to give poison gas to the Nazi's for their "peaceful" use while hosting one to one meetings with Adolf Hitler, perhaps over tea.( Read Article )

I was born in North Carolina and have lived in the South much of my life. I am proud to be a life-long member of the Republican Party, the party that liberated the slaves, as opposed to the Democratic Party which struggled to keep them chained. Just as the Ku Klux Klan could never reform its image enough to cause me to join it, I could never join nor understand how anyone else could join the official party of slavery, the Democratic Party. I have always assumed that those who joined the Democratic Party had a form of dementia which impacts their ability to think.( Read Article )

Today the Democrats in the House of Representatives align themselves with al-Qaeda and all those who would seek to see America and democracy loose in Iraq. The Democrats and a few weak Republicans, who represent Democratic leaning districts, are condemning the surge of American troops in Iraq, and in so doing the Commander-in-Chief, our generals and our brave service-members. The vote to condemn the build-up of our forces in Iraq is being hailed by our enemies both around the world and the fifth column within, and is the brainchild of a two headed monster comprised of Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha.( Read Article )

There was a time when Democratic politicians were normal and Democratic candidates for President represented the best of their party. Today, a former Ku Klux Klan organizer, Democratic Senator Robert Byrd, is the President Pro Tempore of the United States Senate and he was elevated to this position by his colleagues at the same time House Democrats voted in one of their most liberal colleagues, Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, as the Speaker of the House. However, the Democratic candidates for President almost make these wing-nuts look normal.( Read Article )

In my little town of Clear Lake we have three women who have placed us on the map, but in a negative light. We have Dr. Clara Harris who ran over her Orthodontist husband three time with his daughter in the passenger seat watching; we have Andrea Yates who drowned her five kids; and now we have Navy Captain and Astronaut Lisa Nowak, who the Orlando police believe tried to murder a junior grade officer in the Air Force by the name of Captain Colleen Shipman.( Read Article )

My late father and father in-law served in Vietnam, and I grew up during that war watching are heroes humiliated, ridiculed and spat upon by fellow "Americans" after honorable service in that war. I, like so many military dependents was angry at the human scum who mocked our courageous men and women in uniform and at a country that did not adequately honor our veterans for their service.( Read Article )

Clear Lake Texas barely registers on a map anymore after being obsorbed by Houston for tax purposes. Clear Lake is known for NASA's Johnson Space Center and for being a nice place to live. However, that image has been repeatedly tarnished of late after super mom Andrea Yates drowned her five children in her bathtub, and after Dr. Clara Harris ran over orthodonist husband, Dr, David Harris, three times in a Hilton parking lot for allegedly chaeating on her.( Read Article )

In Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's world the Holocaust never happened and 6 million Jewish men, women and children were not brutally murdered by the Nazi's in WW-ll. The left is always looking for leaders with that vision thing and this used car salesman is full of it. Ahmadinejad's name includes the word mad in the middle of it, which is about the only honest thing about him. He shares his vision of the world with Nazi's, skin heads, other Islamic extremists and the Klan, and receives his support from Russia, Communist China and of course the Hollywood elite.( Read Article )

In his positive and sympathetic story about Senator Robert C. Byrd becoming the longest serving Senator, Andrew Taylor of the Associated Press glosses over the fact that Senator Byrd was once a member of the KKK, a light treatment which evidences the media’s loyalty to even the worse slime in the Democratic Party. In this June 10, 2006, story, entitled "Byrd becoming longest-serving senator" Taylor says this about Byrd's KKK affiliation:( Read Article )

In my opinion Ehren Watada is an insubordinate coward for refusing to go to Iraq and should serve a sentence in a military prison as punishment. As a former Army Officer myself with two sons who now serve in the United States Army as Lieutenants I am at a loss to discern how Watada wattled into the Army, and I do want to see him booted out, with a swift kick to his rear. Enlisted men look to their Officers as examples, and when that example proves to be negative the morale of the troops suffer.( Read Article )

When I teach Constitutional Law I like to bring up the contribution of the NAACP to the expansion and preservation of liberty in America. Whenever, white racists tried to relegate blacks to the back of the bus or intimidate blacks to remain silent it was the NAACP that fought back for human dignity and free speech. The NAACP won battle after battle for blacks in America and stood as a force against the oppression of Government. Members of the NAACP spoke up loudly when blacks were accused of rape and few educated people challenged their motives or good intentions. Now, sadly, I must teach my classes that the NAACP apparently engages in a double standard when it comes to white people who are accused of rape and who might be the victims of an oppressive government.( Read Article )

As a young boy my family and I would go to military cemeteries to place flags on graves and pray, usually for strangers but sometimes for those we knew and lost. When my father returned from Vietnam I can recall him standing over my infant brother’s grave at Arlington Cemetery, looking down on a son he lost but never knew. Two rows over from my brother is where my maternal grandparents are buried, and in-front of me, on that day, was a woman weeping for a son she must have lost in Vietnam. Arlington, like all the other veterans cemeteries across this country, is where we honor those who served and the families they left behind.( Read Article )

Durham County's District Attorney, Mike Nifong, is running for reelection and in the process running over the honor and reputation of 46 bright and talented young men, who made the mistake of playing lacrosse for Duke University. In America everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty, well perhaps not in Mike Nifong's America. Mike Nifong is hyping an already sensational story that an exotic dancer was raped by 3 of Duke's lacrosse team players. The problem with his campaign story is that there was no DNA evidence found connecting the players with the woman. Lets not forget that the DNA evidence on Monica Lewinsky's blue dress, found months after the oval office peep show, is what caused President Bill Clinton to give a new definition of what sex is and isn't. I am a lifelong traditional Catholic and I respect the teachings of my church, to include those on birth control and abortion. I credit Pope John Paul ll with toppling the Soviet Union, right along with President Ronald Reagan. I support anyone's right to voice their political opinion, even a priest, rabbi or preacher from the pulpit. Freedom of speech should extend to everyone, even to those in the ministry and even to those who oppose freedom of speech. I have actively supported the First Amendment free exercise of religion clause, as a shield behind which the religious can stand, protected from Government. However, I believe Cardinal Roger Mahoney has crossed the line by advocating that the Catholic Church should be willing to oppose a proposed Federal law against assisting illegal immigrants, by shielding, aiding and abetting illegal aliens in the commission of their crime.( Read Article )

"V for Vendetta" was reportedly inspired as a rebuke of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, one of the truly great leaders of our time. Set in London England in the not to distant future the hero in this anti-West propaganda piece is a man in a mask who uses terrorism to achieve his goals. The British Government in this movie, which just happens to be Conservative, secretly used biological weapons on the English people to win their support and entry into office. That is, the Conservatives blamed the biological attacks on terrorists and the people voted in the Conservatives to combat terrorism. Of course conservatives, being evil people, immediately begin killing homosexuals and outlawing books like the Quran.( Read Article )

A few days ago I wrote an Op-Ed about a pathetic little man named Russ Feingold and his demented attempt to censure President George W. Bush, the Commander in Chief of the United States of America. My Op-Ed was titled "Is Senator Russ Feingold a Traitor?". Upon writing that story the full force of Feingold's political machine wrote stories and comments attacking me, that's right, all 15 of them. One story I found amusing was written by a plump, jolly looking fellow named Steve Anderson, who published his comments in a publication called the Huffington Post, a publication that has been serving the public since May 9, 2005, that's right, almost a year. I mention this because I expect a similar attack for my comments about the aging wonder of liberalism, Jane Fonda, and I say, bring it on blubber boy.( Read Article )

Dear Annie:

In your March 11th, 2006, Op-Ed entitled "Blood on the red carpet", which appeared in The Guardian newspaper, you defended your work of love, "Brokeback Mountain", and made some strong accusations against all those who helped make that movie the surprise failure at this years Oscars. First, thank you Annie for choosing blood as your body fluid of choice for your Op-Ed, obviously, considering the theme of "Brokeback Mountain" there was a more obvious choice. I found it humorous and ironic that you called the winner of the 78th Oscars "Trash" instead of "Crash", its title; ironic because your piece of garbage, "Brokeback Mountain", could have easily been named Trash and people would have assumed that the title had some relevance to the quality of the movie and its theme.( Read Article )

Black American servicemembers serve in the military every day with great distinction, as do people with white, brown, red and yellow skin pigmentation. We should be proud of every person who wears the uniform and especially those who serve or who have served in Iraq , Afghanistan and during Hurricane Katrina. However, when the Department of Defense (DoD) starts playing politics with race I have a problem with that. On February 25, 2006, in a reception hosted by DoD and the Army Test and Evaluation Command in Austin Texas, eleven American heroes were honored, not just for doing a superb job, but for being black.( Read Article )

Every once in awhile I see a superb candidate for a judge which inspires me to believe that the legal profession is getting better. Obviously most conservatives would agree that Samuel Alito is such a man, and I agree. Samuel Alito's came to prominence through hard work and years of progressively more difficult responsibility, but like all great judges at some stage in his life he made the decision to cross over from advocate to judge, and at that moment the stage was set for future greatness.( Read Article )
