As I indicated in an earlier article, healthcare in America is in a downward spiral. Even more disturbing is the fact that the government can strong arm its way into our lives and determine what treatments we should undergo. ( Read Article )

We all have depended on the advice of our doctors, on nurses, and healthcare providers to keep us in balance, and in health. These days, gross negligence is common in today's hospitals and in the healthcare industry. People's lives are in the hands of healthcare providers, so it's serious that they give people the correct information and correct medical care they need. But that is not always the case.( Read Article )

It's only a matter of time before America is hit again with a terror attack. Because of the rise in terror incidents in other nations, Americans must not think that we will not be hit again. However, our attitudes must be that of vigilance and strength as we come together and realize just who we are fighting. ( Read Article )

This great land called America is not some prize to be won. It's a gift by Almighty God, a gift of unexplained beauty to be enjoyed by all. Just as the land is precious, so are the people of America. No one group of people completely rules or dominates.( Read Article )

Right now, it's no secret that the nation's healthcare system is floundering. It's a mess. One reason is because of the high number of illegal immigrants receiving free healthcare. As a result, American citizens are left to pick up the tab. The problem exists in cities across America. Take Houston, Texas, for example...the number of illegals receiving free healthcare is significant. A Houston Chronicle article explains more:( Read Article )

If someone would have told me last year that some of our leaders in our government and those of the powerful elite in this country were plotting to merge Canada, the United States, and Mexico, I would have brushed it aside as a conspiracy theory. Yes, it seems wild, however as we face the huge illegal immigration issue, many conservatives are now starting to put the pieces together. ( Read Article )

Once again, the gay marriage issue has come before the Senate. And with no surprise, Senators motioned to strike down a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. What a sad state the Senate has become! It should have been a no-brainer to stand up in the defense of marriage!( Read Article )

We now come upon that time of year when graduation ceremonies are aplenty and tributes to God are common during these events. However the assault against America's Christian traditions continue. The organization leading the charge?? The ACLU. The ACLU has been responsible for going against cherished organizations in America such as the Boy Scouts, for their beliefs of honoring God, and for their stand against homosexuals taking leadership positions in the organization. The Boy Scouts are an organization which prides itself on values and faith, pride in one's country, and the mentoring and preparation of ushering young boys into manhood. It's their right to exclude those who see the sexually deviant homosexual lifestyle as normal. ( Read Article )

The Da Vinci Code film based on Dan Brown's novel has only one goal, and that is to try to shake the foundations of Christianity and leave confusion in its wake. It is designed to offend and negate the very reason why Jesus Christ came to this earth. Christ did NOT come to this earth to engage in lustful desires. His purpose was to do his Father's will, God's will in heaven. ( Read Article )

Steve Beren, former anti-war activist is now a Republican running for Congress to represent Washington state's 7th Congressional District. Beren recognizes the importance of fighting the war on terror, less government, and the protection of our borders. Issues which our current leadership has abandoned (save fighting the war on terror). Issues that matter to many Americans right now, given our current global and national situation.( Read Article )

Americans by the thousands go about their lives as if 9-11 did not happen. Many people are content to trust that their government is doing what they are supposed to be doing. Well, they are WRONG! Many of us are living in a false sense of security if we think those at the helm of this country are doing right by us.( Read Article )

Millions of people have been forced to flee their homes. Children watch, and sometimes are forced to participate in, the horrors of mass killing and torture as child soldiers...cutting people up, cutting off women's breasts, limbs, etc. The child soldiers say they do it because if they do not, they will die by the hands of adult rebel militia men.( Read Article )

A message to all illegals who want to protest their right to be here: I'm speaking out to say that, if you want to be here, then respect our laws, our traditions, and our way of life as Americans! You can't have one foot in Mexico and another in this wonderful country, the U.S.A.! ( Read Article )

In the midst of all the flip-flopping by the Senate on illegal immigration, I have looked for future leaders in our nation who favor sealing the borders and aggressively acting on illegal immigration. Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) has stood out to me, not only for his conservative leanings, but because of his tireless effort to remind Americans of the many problems associated with allowing illegals to work and live in America, and the problems along the border.( Read Article )

All of the flip flopping around in the Senate over which bill to support regarding illegal immigration, has me annoyed again. How hard is it to understand that the majority of the American people want a crackdown on illegal immigration, for illegals to leave?! And for our borders to be secured?! ( Read Article )

While the nation faces protests from illegal immigrants and their supporters on the right for illegals to remain in the U.S., Americans are saying that enough is enough. We've dealt with the illegal immigration problem for far too long now.
Protests have broken out in cities across the U.S. in response of a bill that passed the House last year, and now the Senate is poised to act on it. The bill is designed to curb illegal immigration by giving stiff fines to employers who hire illegal immigrants, and charging anyone who is in the U.S. illegally with a felony, not a misdemeanor, as it has been in the past. In today's society, in the year 2006, the issue of race is still a sensitive subject at times. Either we are dividing each other through political correctness (African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, etc.), or some of us still have hang-ups over races mingling together, or we use race for political gain and to push controversy. Aren't we all supposed to be American?! ( Read Article )

With all of the strange events surrounding the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, the scandals and the many falls of Olympic metal hopefuls, there has been little attention put on athletes who went to the games and overcame obstacles and achieved a metal. Still there are some who went to the games not necessarily coming out with a metal, but they learned something about themselves, and they enjoyed mingling with the great athletes around the world. It wasn't about winning medals to them. ( Read Article )

Recently, it's been hard for me to figure out where President Bush's head is at. With the news of US Govt. approval to hand over 6 of our major seaports to a firm in the UAE, I'm not looking at this from a conservative point of view, or through any political standpoint. I am looking at this through a common sense perspective. What are we doing as a nation?! ( Read Article )

Coretta S. King was a dignified, wonderful lady in every since of the word. So as she departed this world, the order of her funeral should have reflected that. Bitter partisan politicking from a few Ex-Presidents and Civil Rights leaders were mixed in with singing and praise of Coretta S. King. As President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush sat behind their attackers, the lashing began. From the Rev. Joseph Lowery came the rebuke:

"We know now that there were no weapons of mass destruction over there, but Coretta knew, and we know, that there are weapons of misdirection right down here." ( Read Article )

I am concerned about the buildup of nuclear tensions, and the ability for certain regimes to acquire nuclear weapons. The "jihad" rhetoric has been stepped up in recent weeks, and a move towards confronting our democratic ally Israel is in the works. The threats specifically come from Iran and now Hamas. Hamas, the known terrorist organization among Palestinians, has won the majority of seats in the Palestinian elections, giving them the edge over Fatah, who has long been in power. ( Read Article )

I want to mention how important it is for parents to be involved in their children's education. Start young, teach them the basics...how to read, to count, to spell their name. By the time they enter Kindergarden, they are prepared. Parents! You are your child's best teacher. So it should be no surprise that parents should be very actively involved in what their child is being taught at school...continue to be a presence in the child's life as he/she progresses through grammar and High School. It is so very important today because the quality of education in public schools has gone into the gutter. ( Read Article )
